Brake Caliper Paint

Just wondering, those that painted their calipers way back. How's the paint holding up? Peeling any?

I'm going to do mine the spring. Looking at getting Yellow or Red. Is there any specific brand names I should look for or avoid?

did mine a few months ago...ford red... no chipping or anything, just make sure it's high temp. paint.

Just washed my car today and after having painted my calipers about 5 months ago they still look bright red. I bought some high temp red paint from WallyWorld. A whole $3.95! :D

I painted my calipers yellow just two days ago. Now they look sweet!!!
I used the "G2 caliper paint."

I painted mine yellow with VHT. It looks real nice and compliments the badge on the side. Its for brakes, calipers, drums, and rotors only. It has a 900 degree rating and is also chemical, road salt, corrosion, and brake dust resistant. I have sprayed brake cleaner on the painted caliper and it hasnt ran or rubbed off. I bought some cheap stuff at checker auto parts, painted my old skool ride and used brake cleaner on them about a month afterward. Man that crap ass stuff ran all over the rims and cement. I was rubbing with thinner for about 4 hours.(For some reason the crap stuck to the rims even after spraying brake cleaner on them) I would go with this stuff in my opinion its called VHT and is $11.95 for two cans. I had read a while back about someone using some sort of brush on caliper paint (so they didn't have to take the calipers apart)? Anyone know what that would be? :confused:

Yes, Actually the "G2 caliper paint" that I used is "brush on application" - the entire set comes with brake caliper cleaner, the paint, the reactor (which you are sopposed to mix with the paint), and a brush. G2 is a German company and they claim that their paint has the highest heat resistant rating in the industry. Over 950 degrees!
Another brush on paint is the "Foliatec" (not sure of the spelling), and it is a similiar package like the G2.

I used the some spray stuff first, that came off quick, then I used the duplicolor brush on stuff. I have a few chips, but I pretty much drive a 100 mile rally everyday....

I have yet to find a paint that will stay on forever, but the foliatec does last at least one season before minor flakes come off..

I painted mine about a year ago and they're holding up fine, no chips, etc...

I used ford red high temp paint from autozone. I was cautious about using the brush on kind, just because at the time I did mine, I hadn't heard much about it, but after seeing/reading about it, I think it's a good alternative to regular spraying.

More then 1 year now on the VHT Red caliper paint, still looks as shinny as it was when I first applied them. I think I have 1 chip on the paint though, but its so not even a bother to repaint them.

i also used the red vht and thus far it doesnt appear to have flaked or chipped. they are dirty though due to the winter. ill probably repaint them this spring.
