hey guys,

I picked up a used forge blow off valve from a member and at times it is making a weird sound thats really annoying me. A friend advised me that I should put some sort of grease in it to lubricate it as it needs some from time to time. Does anyone have any advice as to what to use and how often it should be done? I tried searching the board but couldnt find anything (bang)

Thanks for the help, Jeff

Mine was lubricated with some kind of red grease when I got it & hasn't needed anymore. I don't know what the noise is exactly that yours is making, but I can bring this matter up with Forge when I doing the GB stuff.

Mine makes like a whine right before it blows off, then chips, then goes 'psst' at the end. My car is possessed. Thats how I look at it. My car would arm itself and lock all the doors when my engine light was on before I fixed it. It freaked me out a bit. I'd be standing right next to the car on jacks with the windows down and "CLICK!" all the doors would lock and the flashing red light would come on. I'd press the unlock botton twice so all the doors would open and it would disarm.... then 20 seconds or so later "CLICK!", they would lock again and the lights would flash. Spooky.

And my Forge had red grease right from the box also. So it was lubed when it got here, not sure about it needing any more. The whine that I hear now only happens after I get to about 4500 rpm. And also, I'm boosting up to 10 psi which I didnt hear the noise before when I was at 6psi-7psi.

its supposd to do that.. it rearms itself if you dont open a door

oh, and try some air tool oil for your BOV.. it works good at keeping water (humidity) from damaging air tools, so why not a bov?

But mine didnt used to do that before. And not every few seconds after I turn the alarm off. I used to walk away and do stuff around the yard, come back 20 min later and it's still unlocked. When it had the 'dummy light' after I put my downpipe in, it STILL didnt do that. The minute we started to put in the MIL eliminator, it did it back and forth every few seconds. It was like playing gotcha last with my car. I'd disarm it, few seconds later it'd CLICK and rearm. It went back and forth until we perm. fixed the MIL and the cel went away. My car must've not liked getting messed with. I still think the 'whine' it makes when it spools up is it complaining or talking to me. It's possessed I tell ya. lol

There is not enough Holy water and dead chickens to get that f*%#@ out of there.

Smack it on the fender like a forehead and say "YOU ARE HEALED!!!!!!"

you need banana hands (Tony Robbins) to heal your car
