2001 ES Motor

How much would u guys offer a salvage yard for a 2001 Protege ES Motor, i dont know how many miles on it but since its an 01 im assuming its not to terribly many. I'm thinking about buying a second motor to build up then when my car hits 70k or so doing the swap.

You can get them for around $500 on that site. If you're doing a build, don't worry about miles or condition, as you'd want to magneflux it, bore it, mill it etc anyways......

I got an 01 MP3 engine from a local salvage yard here in central pa...and I was told it had around 17,000 miles on it...It was a rip it yourself type of place, and i paid $400 for the engine sans intake manifold, and sans gearbox...all the other accesories were still attatched...

depending on what you plan on doing to the engine, the mileage really won't be that important...If you are going to thorougly work the internals and head, you could build one hell of an FS even out of something that had 80,000 miles on it when you started...

hm, time to keep my eyes open on those sites for a steal......be nice to have an extra block.head/IM/cams/gears so you dont have down time while doing the major work to them.
