View Full Version : Attn: EVERYONE!..about vendors!

Antoine

I'm starting to see more and more unauthorized vendors posting around without any problem...which is not acceptable! I don't care if they WERE an Authorized Vendor yesterday or 6 months ago...if that blue title (Authorized Vendor) is not above their avatar then they are NOT authorized to sell or take orders from the members of this community!

Even if they have made a request and or are in the process of obtaining AV status they can't sell or take orders until I have put Authorized Vendor above their avatar.

This is very important...all of the vendors who pay for AV status not only bring you the parts and services you desire but they help keep this community ONLINE not to mention develop the Mazda aftermarket! Also, our Authorized Vendor system is designed to help protect members against SCAMMERS!

Attn: Moderators *This is one of your main responsibilities*

If you spot a vendor attempting to sell or take orders without AV status please close the thread and warn them immediately...if you are not sure PM me about it! Gauging interest is OKAY without AV status!

Thanks!

Vendor run and related GB's need AV status...

Non-Vendor / Non-Profit GB's run by normal members don't need AV status...

First let me say that we have nearly 40 moderators! *All moderators of this community have a responsibility to monitor unauthorized vendor activity.

I appreciate the support guys (I don't appreciate smart ass remarks). What would be nice is to have like an AV/AMM roving patrol...maybe a couple members whose #1 mission is to keep a close eye out for unauthorized vendors who are doing more than "gauging interest" and members who need amm status...now this would be a friendly patrol because some vendors genuinely don't know about the rules...you will have to maintain a friendly but professional manner for this position...If this idea becomes a reality I'll make up a set of guidelines...

you don't want to be a mod. unless you like getting all sorts of remarks against you for doing something later found to be correct, or if you like being questioned, or if you like to be critized by fellow mods/admins... i communicated with people when i was a mod to no avail. no one really cares.

man, for the past week I saw like 3 people trying involve people in buying their stuff in group buys. Even tho Im not a moderator, I still tell them to cut the crap, become authorized vendor, and let people know that its unsafe to buy stuff from unauthorized "personel" hehe.

Dis the first is not a vendor or a AMM hes a member that found a good deal and basicly by doing all the work for the GB and he gets a better deal(more then likely) same with the 3rd one.

the second one antione already replied in the thread

No sarcasm at all. Antoine is saying that buyers are protected if they buy from an authorized vendor, when in reality they are not!!!

Exactly...

I’m wondering- what’s the monthly bill for this website run? no- seriously.

Around $300 per month at this time (will increase)...not including occasional hardware and software upgrades...

To those who can't accept reality...I'm not going to waste time responding to your accusations based on personal grudges and not on the facts.

DiS...I appreciate your support...but please be sure to familiarize yourself well with the AV / AMM rules and setup before calling out suspect threads...you can always pm if your not sure...thanks :)

Thanks for the tip orangezoom..I posted in that thread. I understand if they are trying to gauge interest but I've noticed how some vendors all too quickly assume sales and orders after gauging interest without much care for AV status...in which case their threads/business get suspended in this community until AV status is obtained or if not...they can not continue business here...

Exactly. To say that buying from an AV is any safer for the buyer than buying from some chump that just joined is a statement pulled out of the sky with no factual backing.

Exactly. To say that buying from an AV is any safer for the buyer than buying from some chump that just joined is a statement pulled out of the sky with no factual backing.Your statement above was pulled out of the sky...no...more like your ASS.

1. No AV has ever scammed this community...Several vendors WITHOUT AV status HAVE unfortunately scammed this community.

2. I not only ask every potential AV the following...

Your FULL Name
-Business license number
-Company Name and address
-Site Username (this would be the name of your company)
-Contact Information (phone, e-mail)
-Website
-Include information of the products and services you offer

3. but also let them know what is expected from an AV and...

4. via a mini interview...I can see there intentions, experience etc...and

5. try to do some research to see if the info they have provided me is consistent and reliable...in some cases I will seek members that will vouch for the vendor...

I've been running the AV program since I started it about 2 years ago...do not think for a second that I don't take this task seriously! I don't appreciate your false accusations. I'm doing the most I can short of having my own FBI.

Think before you waste my time with such statements...What I needed to say has been said and discussed...this thread will now be for viewing only.
