Well I'm finally going to start doing stuff to my Msp. I'm wondering what would be the best thing to go with first. I'm going to get me exhaust soon so thats already taken care of, but I'm wondering what else should I get. I was thinking of getting AEM Cold Air Intake. Maybe the FMDVMSP02 Mazdaspeed Protégé Diverter Valve. Oh and if anyone knows or has for sell a Frontmount Intercooler for a good price I would love to know. Lastly I was wondering if I should go with a Boost Controller or an Air/Fuel Countroller.
Well I would appriciate any advice people can give that will help me make my car run better.

FMIC or Unichip

FMIC or MPI tuner
You would also be happier with the Forge BOV instead of just the BPV. I've had both & I love the BOV. :D

on any turbocharged car the exhaust side will always make the bigger differences. doesn't matter if you can flow more air if you can't get it out faster. try to do the exhaust system as a whole (s-pipe, downpipe, cat-back exhaust) as it will make the biggest difference then just getting one while the other end is still choked up. a good, higher flow air filter will also benefit. even a drop in K&N element can benefit the engine.
a good electronic boost controller that has a quality solenoid will benefit. some say go with an manual one but the thing about the electronic unit isn't so much increasing the boost, you can also increase the 'gain' volume which will allow the boost to come on sooner if you'd like.
most a/f meters are for MONITORING the engine, NOT tuning. IMO, the only capable a/f meter for TUNING is one that is equipped at the dyno and even more so probes that read all of the exhaust banks not just one main one (of course this is getting into racing, not sport tuning). get an a/f meter thinking it's for monitoring engine vitals, not heavily relying on it for only tuning purposes.

Turbo-back exhaust and FMIC. A CAI isn't needed, and a SRI's gains can be see by a K&N Panel filter...

It all depends on your budget and what you want to accomplish. Contrary to some opinions expressed, a CAI will produce more of a gain then either a panel filter or hot air intake(SRI). Boost controller can be your most productive mod as well as most destructive if you use it wrong or have not addressed other areas on the car first. I would choose a boost controller over an A/F controller. Several FMIC kits exist already. I would spend my $1,000 bucks elsehwere first.

I bet your Injen doesn't make as much power as you think. Like mx3 said, CAIs aren't needed on our cars...you get your cold air from a FMIC. The only thing an intake should do is flow well & you get that with short, straight piping.

It makes more power than 1) the stock box, 2) a K&N flat panel, or 3) a SRI. I love my CAI and would not have another option. I could feel a difference from the moment that I put it on.
You don't NEED anything for the MSP! But I wanted increased performance from mine. My mods have delivered that. I could care less about an FMIC. Its not a necessity or a wise use of mod money. My car does not run like shit without one. Just my opinion.

it'd be a little biased opinion because you have a CAI. it's always a heated debate back and forth so saying "contrary to what everyone else is saying this is the real truth and that's that" just doesn't cut it. it will indeed bring in colder, denser air but at the expense of having a longer as well as more bends in the pipes. power gains or losses may also be moved throughout the rev band. the stock box can be sufficient you just need to have a better flowing filter in it. also, depending on where you live and the conditions that frequent your area may help decide if a CAI is right for you. there's a reason why japanese tuners (doesn't have to be limited to mazdas) don't use CAI's and use either a modified stock airbox or enclose a high flowing air filter inside the engine bay seperating it from engine heat. these things always depend on your budget and what you plan to do with your car. you should figure those things out before you start getting into anything. do your research and you should be fine. Main bottleneck, aside from a rich a/f ratio is exhaust... Depending on money, you'd probably be better starting with a good turbo-back system or mid-pipe then getting a Unichip or MPI tuner, then the intercooler. By then time you get to the intercooler, there'll probably be a few more choices out there, too.

You dont need the FMIC unless you are planning on turning up the boost soon. I would say stick with the exhaust and either the MPI tuner or Unichip. The MPI tuner really interest me so if I were in your shoes which I am not I would go with that.
