anyone have a msp with a single cat?? if so has it passed emissions tests? Im lookina t a single cat exhaust but i don't wanna get screwd by emissions testing

Don't have a MSP, but i have a turboed MP3 with a 3" exhaust, 1 high flow cat and the MPI tuner and passed with flying colors. You should have zero issues passing with a cat.

I just asked the same question in another thread. I was concerned as well. I didn't want to get a d/p and have it be a waste of money. Upstate NY is going to emissions testing here in August. I just want to make sure.

in many states you'll fail on visual inspection even if the emissions emitted are within the range. you aren't allowed to modify emissions systems, so if your car came with 2 cats, to pass it needs to still have 2 cats. now depending on where you get it done, they may not do a visual inspection and you'll be fine, but i wouldn't 100% expect to pass

most new cars (probably 2000+) come with 2 cats, i believe, to meet the more strict emissions requirements. and i'm sure they have in a book what emissions equipment each car is equipped with from the factory.
