Altezza's???

I'm wondering if there will be any Altezza's that come out for the MP5 any time soon. i think they would look really great on my car. :D

These lights belong on two cars; the Lexus IS300 and the Toyota Altezza (and yes I know they are fundamentally the same car). I can't even get used to them on the new Nissan Altima, even though they are OEM.

As long as your car isn't red, I think altezzas look much sweeter than stock... I have some on my blue MP3, and definitely no regrets there.

Bad news is, they don't make altezzas yet for the MP5, and I haven't heard of any plans to produce them.

I don't understand why so many people have such strong opinions against altezzas.

I think altezzas look okay sometimes, as long as they aren't cheap with water inside them all the time - and the best altezzas are when they are on say a white car, cause they are white - helps a lot.

I agree, if you like'em why not put them on... Just because it's a trend doens't make it wrong... And yes I know Rice boys put them on just to show off, but if you honestly like them, why not. Why should you care what people think of your car, especially if your doing it because you like it, and not just to live up to the rice boy rule book.

... right Captain KRM P5... the altezzas make him a rice poser copycat, while your Hyper White Lights and Foglamps are stricly for functional purposes (it's extremely hard to see distant objects at night with the stock bulbs (hump) ). Not to mention of course the performance gains you got from your MP5 Badges, and your Plush Pikachu :wtf:

I'll tell you why...its NOT the look...its their function.....the lights out there that are available for our cars are JUNK!! I would NEVER EVER buy a NEW part that I have to disassemble and put back together with new sealant just to make them work properly and NOT leak.....I know of NO ONE that has them that hasn't had to do this.....that sucks. IF they were a high quality product that performed as well or better than stock...fine, if not....well all you do by purchasing them is keep crappy aftermarket goods hitting the shelves and nothing will improve.

i believe the supra had them first, the supra tail's are "Smoked" but they are still altezzas

inverted altezzas are all good for red cars or maybe even silver, but what about the other colors, if you have a white car - altezzas (good ones, sir nuke) look great. If you have a different color, altezzas with a border around them that is body color looks good on those colors - it all depends man, don't just dismiss em

Altezzas can look nice if they are high quality. Problem is, most of them aren't. I see them on Hondas alot, and they look incredibly cheap. There are exceptions though. Stock ones look very nice. IS300, Maxima, Altima, RX300 all have nice looking ones.

Personally, I was never for them. But now that I have a Silver P5 and am going for the clear lights look all around (bumper lenses, sidemarkers, etc) I think they will go good on my car. I have been looking around myself. One bright spot, in the latest issue of Performance Auto & Sound (http://pasmag.com/index2.asp) , a canadian magazine, there is Toucan Industries Protege5. They mention in the article that Altezzes are on the way. Not to mention that they are also working on Coil-overs, Full Cat-back exhaust, headers and cross-drilled/slotted rotors.

My reasoning for them is this....I want to like the looks of my car, but I also want the majority of people to like the looks of my car. Right now in STOCK form, people like the looks of it. I can guarantee tho if I put on a set of even high quality(from far away who can tell the difference?) altezzas, there's a lot of people who would then look at my car and say "riceboy", or think it looks lame for me to just follow something that is way overdone already.

When it comes to appearance things, I prefer to keep it simple...if you own a Protege, P5 or an MP3, you've already got a nice car and I don't personally think some altezzas will add to the looks of the car, but it will definitely make some people think that it detracts from the look of your car.

Personally, I don't think Altezzas are that bad, just look around almost every manufacturer is copying that style (mazda too), but just to echo what bigblue said, "I want to make ppl look at my car because its a p5", well put I say...;)

its funny how they are called altezzas, despite the mass clutter of aftermarket tail lights does not even resemble that of an altezza...anyway, don't get them!!! by the way, speaking of "altezza" style tail lights, have you guys taken a look at the mazda 6 tail lights? similar style? i don't like them that much...

I have the Carbon FIber Tail lights. All I have to say is APC Altezzas are soooo cheap! I had some clear ones, but water and fog got in and ruined the chrome finish inside! I bought the Carbon Fiber ones from a friend who had sealed the hell out of them. They look a lot better.

Someone posted it on Audiworld and I immediately thought of this thread, I mostly posted it because I can't stop laughing every time I see it. If you want to put altezza's or JDM's on your car go ahead....just don't put a fart pipe on, I beg you.

I do dislike the Altezza's on most cars. The 2nd generation ones aren't too bad, but for the P5, I don't think you should mess with it. I guess I'll have to see to judge. But for now, most peeps here in Orange County that have them put them on cars that are beat up and old. Even newer cars that have nice lights on them already have those Altezza's now. They're simply played out like someone just said earlier.
