z828 wont play cd's

Yesterday my CD player was skipping like crazy.. now today it wont play cd's at all, but sometime flashes track 4 (the one it was skipping on yesterday) then just goes right to the tuner.

anyone else experience this??

i have had 2-z919's and this is my first z828. i have 49800miles right now, the car is going in for warranty work next week.. maybe i can get 1 more before my warranty is up. i wonder if they will try and blame it on the amp?

The HUs definitely have issues. I'm on my 2nd 828, and it can get flaky at times.

I've been having problems with mine to lately. Good thing I traded the MP3 for a new Mazda 3s, the warranty is up soon and will do me no good anymore. Good luck finding a solution.

In my opinion it is a better car, for me anyway. I lose the fact that it's not a limited production car, but there are other notable advances made. For example, it has a 2.3l I4 with vvt and puts out about 160 hp and 150 ft/lbs of torque, it has the option for HID's, TPMS(Tire pressure monitoring), Power Moonroof, and it looks awesome. I think that it's a better car for me because I'm gonna save almost a $100 a month on insurance, and as i know that every car has some problems there haven't been any bad ones come up about the 3 yet. I won't deny that I'm gonna miss my MP3, but I'm gonna have one sweet car after a few years. Hiboost is developing a turbo that should give it about 280 whp, which will be amazing and I think that the rest of the aftermarket world will be following suit and there will be an abundance of parts for this car. I have the car at mazda now for warranty work, I hope they replace my CD player, i have a feeling they will try and blame it on my amp, but we will find out. This is BS how many stereo's i have been through. kennwood is junk!!

my HU has been doing this for about 8 months now...
it only plays some new cd's..

one thing i can suggest that helps a lot is using a laser cleaner with the brushes on it...
i used the magnavox cleaner and it made a really big difference....

i think im going to buy alpine or the new sony

When my 828 dies, i may just get something better that "plugs right in". But what is a direct replacement for it?
