I have been looking at getting a "red top" optima battery and was wondering if there is any specific size or part number that we need to have? I always see them at Autozone and was wondering if there is only one size or will I have to special order one?

The optima website may help. Some websites ask about what make and model car you have, then it tells you what model fits. I was looking at getting a yellow top for my car but I've heard that if the battery ever goes dead, it will not be able to be jump started. It will need recharging at the store.

Why is that & what's the difference between the red & yellow?

I dont think there's a difference between the colors. It's just what color you prefer. It's used mainly as an engine dress-up and for audio equipment. As far as not being able to jump start one, it's just something someone else told me. I don't have one so I can't say.

The color actually means something. The blue ones are used mainly for boats.
I bought my red top Optima at Pep Boys

The Red Top is considered an SLI Battery (starting, lighting, ignition), very similar to the OEM battery. The main differences is that the Red Top is a Gel Style battery and will not leak, unlike your standard battery. This battery is very good in its own right, but does not like to be run down with electronics and stereo equipment.
The Yellow Top is considered a Deep Cycle Battery. This type of battery is perfect for applications which use a lot of juice, eg. electronics, stereo systems, etc. The deep cycle battery holds its charge better after it has been run down and can be charged back up to full capacity. The downside to this is that you need to get a special type of charger specific to deep cycle batteries to recharge them. You cannot get jumpstarted in the parking lot unless you have a deep cycle charger. This means that Mr. Good Samaritan cannot help you if you left your light on in the parking lot and cycled all of your power out.
I found all of this info, in this website via "searching". Hope this helps.

Also, did it automatically come with the tray thingy, or did you have to specify that? Did you have any clearance problems with the strut tower brace? And how much was it with shipping and no exchange? Thanks.

Also in mind that most Costcos also carry the red top 75/35 with the tray for about $99 plus tax.

I've seen these at WalMart, could be cheaper there. But this is in Canada.
