Whenever i go over a bump or a dip in the road with my right rear tire, i get this nazty creaking crunch sound. It wasnt there yesterday, just all the sudden.

Any ideas?

I have a squeak sound that comes from my rear going over bumps. I am not sure if it is the same thing you are talking about, but to fix it I used some all purpose grease and greased my rear swaybar bushing thingys (the ones that are in the middle of the swaybar that hold it up).

hrm, ive had that problem, and it doenst sound the same.

Its not so much a squeak, like when its cold, but its more like a crunch, almost a grind. Its only when the REAR right tire articulates up or down....

Yeah ... its the bushings ... have the front and the rears replaced ... and prepare to have it done about every 6k miles. Mazda still has their head up their ass about the swaybar bushings.

really? ive had the "clunk" twice now, this sounds NOTHING Like that. This is something you can hear from outside the car.....i really dont think its the bushings as it would happen on eather wheele, not just the right.

is this only on MSPs? I heard something like this coming from the front the other day...its not very loud and I only heard it with the radio off and windows down...

it was like a squeak/crunch/sizzle noise seemingly at random whenever i was turnin the wheel at slow speeds or hit a bump.

my car is lowered so im kinda worried about trying to take it in for warranty work on the suspension(shrug)

Rear bushings!

I had the exact symptom recently too with the right rear also.
Took it in and they replace the rear bushing and th symptom is gone now.
This is the 3rd time. The first 2 times, I heard clunking instead.

ugh, I'm taking the car in tomorrow cause I've had the problem for too long. I thought my strut had come un-seated but it was fine. Horray for another alignment!!

I guess they fugged up the front bushing install cause this isn't a clunk, its a squeek, crunch. GRRRRRRR Gotta fight for a new tire too, cause the belts are faulty.

I love my MSP, I love my MSP, I love my MSP... :(

Ok, it's a 100% sure it's your bushings. Mines are again like that, 2nd time in 5 weeks. You need to get them replaced. Grease will last not long. When it's hot and dry, you hear it most. It's like the back of the car sound like two people getting laid in the oldest spring matress ever. You hear it pretty well from the outside. And yes, it's shameful.

Be sure your swaybar is ok too, mine is all scratch at bushing contact point. So they can change them anytime, some sand still get in... etc. And squeek will be back. That's what I'm going to fight for on monday, new bar + new bushings.

Here is how i can reproduce it every time... find your self a speed bump. go about 5 MPH faster than you should be going... turn across it ... dont go over it straight ... but turn your car going across it ... you will hear it. I do every time.

Today when I pulled out the driveway and shifted into first, as I started to roll forward I heard and felt a big ass crunch underneath. What the hell was that??? Sounded like something broke...(boom01)
