The car is 1.5 yrs old and has 35000kms and the list is growing.

1 - rattle under dash around steering column
2 - buzzing near dash compartment
3 - passenger seat rattles when empty in the sitting position
4 - shift stick buzzes in 2nd and 4th
5 - In the winter the rear deck rattles until the car is warmed up

These are the order they appeared. I have explained all these noises to the dealer more than once and they can't find any of them because they are mostly dependant upon the temperature and road conditions. The dealership is located downtown and the noises are mostly noticable on the highway and they won't take the car to the highway because "it's too far away". So I asked them how they planned on fixing the noises. "oh they'll get worse and then we'll hear them" . Makes me wanna slap someone. (rant)

before i got my msp, i had a 2000 protege es and it had the same rattle that the msp has. around the gauge cluster, the black surrounding cover piece has alittle gap between the clear plastic piece and rattled like crazy in both cars. i had dynomat sitting around so i just cut and very small chunk, folded in half and wedged in. never heard it again. the rear deck rattles on highway in the right temp of weather to, don't know why though, i have dynomat covering the whole thing, so i'm guessin its one of the clamps of the deck cover not fully grabbing...?

Tons of moaning from the back seat and feet slamming against one rear door panel.

I had the rattle near the steering column. I found that there was a screw loose that holds the lower cover under the column. It was to the right near the center console. Other than that, rattle free.

I'm not sure this is covered under warranty...nor would I think you want to eliminate these noises...LOL!! ;)

Let's see, I have:

1) Clunk
2) buzz behind glove box
3) when cold outside I get the spring "crunch"

oh yeah the front suspension noise is on me in the winter. The clunk was fixed several months ago and has not returned. I was just looking for help with my ever growing list of interior noises. I'm going to go deaf from turning my stereo up. :)

Rear deck or sub/amp rack rattles when stereo is on
I get the windshield whistle at higher highway speeds
Sometimes I hear an electrical whine when I'm driving on the highway at constant speed
My boost gauge also buzzes, but that's not MSP-related & 42DD has a fix for it.

I had a P5 for a year before my MSP and it made no noise. I miss that.

its VERY annoying, and hard to pinpoint.

If anyone has pinpointed ANY of the things listed here, please! tell us.

For awhile i was possitive the rear rattle was caused by the rear middle seat belt, i took it out, and still there.....damm!

i know one of my rear rattles is from the edge of the back deck vibrating against the rear window. Took it out and put down some foam tape and it helped.

1. trunk assembly rattles with music.
2. rear deck rattles when cold.
3. something inside passenger door.
4. the fraking glov-box! something's up with the locking mechanism....it clicks over bumps.
i've taken it appart, lubricated, done other crap....still clicks!

I have at least 5 or 10 that appear at different times or days. Just when I think one is finally gone it re-appears and I've just given up. The main ones are:

1. Near dimmer switch which stopped briefly when I tapped the dimmer wire and reinstalled.

2. Driver door around tweater.

3. Driver seat when going around a turn or stopping.

4. Rear deck which everyone has issues with.

5. ECU panel after installing Unichip which is my own issue.

6. Passenger door somewhere around tweater.

7. Driver door creaks when I put my elbow on it when driving or window goes up or down.

8. Something on the rear drivers side door but could be wind.

The suspension is somewhat harsh so I expect rattle but this is worse than my S-10 that had squeaky jumper seats in the back.

The only interior noise I get is about three hours after I eat mexican food, and then it only last about ten minutes, at which time it turns into a loud exterior nose. That's a very relieving noise though, and it doesn't bother me. But for some reason, it seems to bother everyone around me!?

The dash noises could be b/c your car was broken into at the dealer and the idiot tech who installed a new dash didnt put all the screws back in or tightened them properly. I replaced my friends dash for him and its very complex. the noise could also be some wire harness that is loose in the back. The passenger seat has to do something with the spring or metal frame support in the foam. The rear deck has to do with something loose in your sub box or trim panel. Best advice is to do it yourself and figure it out. Idiots at the dealerships usually dont care to fix something minor like that.

This sounds more like a "posterior" noise. ;)

Same here.

I get a ratte from the back. It's behind the seatback and it gets loud as hell when the road is not smooth. I figured out that it is the panel that is behind the seats (the one that basically finishes off the pass through when you flip down the seats. I think one of the fastners is coming loose.

The electrical whine might be the rear window defroster turned on when listening to the radio as the antenna is in the same glass

everything rattles with the AWR engine mount at certain RPM, but i gotta tell you, overall i am impressed with my MSP regarding this issue. My 2000 civic had a lot more noises inside.

The AWR mounts really help to mask all the other imperfections. The worst rattle on my car is the damn cosmetic ring around the Radio! I've done everything but yank the damn thing off or Screw it down! Foam, sponge, styrofoam, gum nothing works.

P5 - One wierd rattle from the change tray, probably because of the change moving around. Other than that, just a girl in the passenger seat with really pretty eyes that yells at me to slow down.

front sway bar clunks when i press the brakes hard. rear sway bar clunks all day everyday, driver seat seats because well, it got broken, but we won't go into details of how, oh and random squeaky springs and shit like that.

hmmm. well I have the spring "crunch" as it has been so aptly called, the buzzing from an electical system wishing its headunit would work, and if youre REALLY quiet you can hear my turbo blow off (JK) (kinda). oh, and now my pass window rattles when its all the way down. gee i hope the glass shatters while its down there.

I've got this too. i've noticed when I touch the lock the sound goes away. Eventually I'll pull my door panels off and fix it.

Gauge cluster rattle - will fix when Dave B rings come in
Read deck rattle - fixed with 1/4" weatherstripping all around
Rattle behind stereo - since stereo is going in to get repaired anyway hopefully this will go away

Front suspension creak

Rear klunk - E series bushings wore out after about 4 months, time to replace.

Passenger door gives off a slight *wind* noise when I drive. The faster I go, the easier it is to hear. I'm not sure what causes it.

My subwoofer rattles really hard against the frame when I go over almost any bump. That is getting looked at monday.

Other than that, I keep the music turned up and I'm fine.

My first MSP rattled somewhere around the cup holders at 3K RPM.
