question on vis cf evo hood

Does anyone know if the center vents on this hood come already with mesh grill installed as in the ww hood? I ordered this hood a week ago from apex motorsports and was just wondering.

Yea they definetly come with the mesh. My friend has it on his speed and it came on his. Looks really nice by the way he gets lots of compliments with the hood.

yes i had one and the mesh and rain guard come with it!!! if you have a turbo the rsin guard melts btw.... what was the website and the price you got yours from since spdracing does not sell it anymore and i need another one (the hood sux in accidents)

So if the rain guard melts because of the turbo what is gonna happen when it rains? Will this harm the engine at all?

no.... i left mine off for 3 mths or so..... no harm at all.... plus you get cool heat waves at red lights btw.....

or you could get ww, which is free of non-functional bizarre ducting....

the WW ones have plexiglass covers that you can put in and remove on the underside of the vents....no melting :)

the vis does come with the mesh, I would stay away from there product as 6 out of the last 10 hoods i sold were defects and did'nt fit well, also there is no returns on there stuff which tells me it is crap, go with fiber images or WW

ups and downs tho....
fiber images - exact evo8 replica, you have to buy your own evolution rain guard for underneath and its expensive..but its gotta be perfect if its from FI

wings west...really good CF but not perfect. available plexi rain guards, comes with nice grill you can buy additional grill for your lower front and autoexe style grills if you want to have it match. bad thing is its a REAL pain to remove and replace the plexi pieces as there are like 14 screws in each one and its a pain getting 14 screws to line up in holes in the hood to line up with 2 pieces of metal grill on the top to line up with 1 piece of plexi on the bottom....AND you have to deal with the big ugly grills being on the outside....meaning you see like a 3/4" strip of aluminum around the edge of each vent when you look at thehood, the borders of the mesh....not very attractive IMO but i powdercoated mine black and its ok

vis - hidden mesh so it looks better in that respect, no big ugly borders around the vents....unfortunately it has ugly randomly placed nonfuntional ram air ducts, questionable quality and the rain guard melts from the turbo...

thank you everyone for the quik and good responses. yea i ordered it from apex motorsports. apexr1.com I was gonna order th ww one but they said its on like a 4 month back order. i'd rather just get it now. the weird fake hood scoops leave me a lil confused about how i like it. but i want it more for the vents to let out air than anything else. i'll definitely be paint the "wings" of the hood. (sides) silver to match my paint. and the carbon will flow right with my grill so thats good. ill get it painted come winter when i don't want the hood on. I live in jersey. All the road salt and cold weather wouldnt favor the hood. I was wondering if anyone had a nice pair of cf tails that they wanna sell or know someone is selling. Im interested in adding some carbond look to my rear. thanks guys and girls

the fiber images hood will be sweet when it is released!! but i need a new hood within the next 3 weeks delivered!!
