I will be moving to Omaha this fall, the military hasn't told me when exactly. I was wondering if anyone can tell me how the MSP handles in the snow, I'm assuming snow tires are a mandatory purchase.

Also, is there an active autox community nearby?!

Thanks in advance,

good luck with the autox

There's at least one or two tracks around here and the factory tires are shit.

We will welcome you to join MidWestMazdas our local.....

I spent ~600-650 dollars on rims and snow tires for Jensen Tire. You WILL need them, and with snow tires on, the MSP gets around GREAT!

Wow, thanks for the responses! It looks like I'll be getting there late October or early November, still waiting for my orders.

What type of snow tires do you suggest? I've never lived anywhere cold enough to need them.

MWM sounds like fun, I should have a good amount of free time when I get there.

LOL, true it could be Mynot! Actually Offutt was my first choice. I'm about to graduate EWO (Electronic Warfare Officer for you non-military types :p ) school here in San Antonio and will be going to the RC-135 as, well obviously an EWO! ;) You forgot to mention what you do at Offutt! How hard is it to find a nice place to live? From my very limited online searching, it looks as if there are plenty of good places available.

Can't wait to get out of Texas,
