1) Will a MOMO shift knob, such as model Combat EVO fit on a Mazda3 automatic transmission without modifications? Do you just loosen a set screw?
2) Can the e-brake handle be easily changed?
Thanks!

The shift knob, you just twist twist twist, and it comes off about the mods, I know nothing about that.

1) yup just keep on twisting and it will come off.
2) under the e-brake, theres a screw holding it in place. So just unscrew and thake it off.

Ok, then will the Momo shift knob and e-brake go on the same way? or will modifications be necessary.

why would you want to change the shift knob on the atx?

Same reason one would want to place a stubbie antenna on thier car.....
Cause they can.

i dont want to sound like an idiot, but what is that red button for?
my first guess? a kill switch for an amp...
second guess? a really dumb place to put a nitrous button?

haha. NOS! the 2002 pro5's are regular automatic, not sport-tronic or wutever. that is the over-drive button that was on the stock shifter :)

Those are nice, did the stock shift knob twist off, and the new one attach with a set screw? I guess I'm trying to find out if the Momo knobs are direct replacements or modifications are necessary.
Thanks,

I can't believe Chris (L8R) didn't say it. No, it is not a simple take off your stock knob and put on the Momo. Unless Mazda has changed something in the last few years of production.
With Both his P5 and my wife's Miata a whole lot of cutting of the tube that knob goes on was necessary. Mazda went way over-kill with the diameter. I don't know how he worked his out, but I ended up having to cut out a whole portion with a Sawz-all to get it to work and even after that it was just barely.
I'm happy with the results, but I don't know if I would do it over if I had the choice. Here's the results.
