I just aquired a Stewart-Warner boost gauge. It comes with the nylon hose and requires me to plug it into the pressure/vacuum port with the supplied 1/4 inch or 1/8 inch adapter. This instruction really means nothing to me, would someone care to enlighten me? Specifically I need to know how to tap the vacuum lines.

Thanks,
Dan

ps. any of the other Ottawa area MSPs out there

checkout this post from the how to section, it explains how its done http://www2.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=50210

there are other MSP's here from Ottawa, I dont recall any of the guys names right now, you might want to checkout www.toprotege.com (http://www.toprotege.com) also, mostly Toronto people but there are some guys from Ottawa on there also

Is yours brighter on the right side? That's the way mine is and I don't feel like taking it off and sending it back. Sucks...

I just installed a SW boost gauge today. I replaced the standard buld with the LED kit. The lighting on mine is perfect.

Let me know if either of you managed to use the nylon hose supplied with the kit. I'm just curious and will probably end up getting some 3/16 inch vacuum hose myself.

That's what I did....I trust it more than the supplied nylon hose. I just went to Sears Hardware & got a female - female connector, then a male thread- barbed end for the vacuum hose. Makes life a little easier in the engine bay too...'cause all you have to do is put a "T" in a vacuum line & run the boost vacuum line into the cabin & connect it to the back of the gauge.

As for the right side being a bit brighter, mine is like that too, but I just thought it was the angle that I'm looking at it....I can live with it. The gauge itself works great!
