DO they actually work well or is it a quick fix?? I do not need one as I own a P5 but I was just curious...

It works well for the purpose it was intended. The fuel cut is a safety feature to protect the engine at high airflow (which boost causes) levels. If you want to bypass a safety feature for performance then it works great, just not my personal way to defeat the problem. I will be getting a standalone, which is much better but much more expensive too.
