Ive never seen it on a FWD car. Just AWD. Anyone think it could be usefull? Personally i just think it sounds bad ass to hear.
If you dont know what im talkin about, find the wrx vs z06 vette, im pretty sure that wrx has it.
Anyway the good part, i just left unichip, and they say its built into the unichip. There is ALOT of stuff built into the chip that hasnt even been touched. So sometime 2 weeks from now, there gonna set it up on my car, then they will offer it as a upgrade. ( i imagine you will have to send the chip in to get it tho)
Just thought i would let everyone know, and see if anyone thinks it would be helpfull.

that wrx just sounded badass. and that launch was beautiful. awd is the shit. now by assisted launch do you mean the rev limited he had at take off or something that like watches for wheel spin and tones it down to get rid of it till you get traction then throws the boost back in?

assisted launch is basically a 2 step. You have a switch that limits rpms, so you get a steady launch, then flip the switch to go above the point you set. Couple of my friends have it, but they are all pushing over 380 whp in various cars.

traction control?

Ya. You set it to say 3k. then just mash it. You will bounce off the 3k limit till you drop the clutch, then your rev limiter goes back to stock. You shouldnt have to do anything to get it back to stock.

hm...interesting...but meh, i'd rather just use my foot to keep it at 3k

I've seen a lot of cars happen to blow up on runs where they used a studder box.

a little off topic....what technique does everyone use for launches?

The assisted launch as stated by some one else is call 2 step. You do not have to have the unichip to have it either. There is actually a program you can get off ebay and run your car off of it. You will see a lot of awd dsms' with it. I personally am going to try it. For the launch technique i just bounce around 4k and ezzzz out the clutch. but that is also with about 26psi in the front so it dont wheel hop

stutter box + anti lag = teh w1n.
building boost at idle is cool.

it's traction control. basically the computer gives you the maximum tq so you won't break traction so it's the fastest launch you can achieve with the tires you got. AWD is always gonna kick other drivetrains' asses on those and FWD isn't exactly the best at it.
anti-lag isn't very friendly on your turbo fyi.

ah i see, hondata had that on stage 2 and above. come to a complete stop with the clutch in and you can just smash it and it bounces off the rev limit you set. very neat feature.

Its not traction control people. Traction control is when you get wheelspin, the computer limits power going to the wheel losing traction. 2 step or launch control limits revs, but doesn't limit power.

I was told about those upgrades. There is an authorized Unichip dealer about 5 minutes from my house. They can upgrade my Unichip w/out having to send it off. That rocks!!
