So what radar detector did everyone get if any for their new Mazda3?
I got the PNI Silver Bullet RX7500.

Don't have one. Or need one. I drive sensibly.

I'm with Goldwing, at least for now. I will probably sing a different tune when/if I get pulled over for speeding. Obiviously, most people are purchasing the Valentine2 or the Passports. Those are supposed to be the best.

never hurts to have extra infomation about the road tho.

I don't have one either. I had one as a "young" adult and still got alot of tickets. I just drive more sensibly now, although I have benn known to break out the zoom-zoom from time to time.

Mmm.. really wanting the Bel RX65, but more importantly the Bel LaserPro 905 jammer... the wife is actually entertaining the idea, too! It could happen!

the ESCORT PASSPORT 8500 is a reasonable radar detector..i'm thinking of purchasing it..unless i want to go buck wild and get the V1...

I have the Passport7500.
Had V1 originally. While convoying w/buddy w/8500, the 8500 got less falsies, and picked up true signals slightly farther out than the V1. Slightly.
So I switched. FYI I do a DC->IN drive (600mi) through some HEAVY cop activity in OH and WV a few times a year. I dont know how, but the 7500 really cuts down on the negatives.

I'm just in love with my V1 - got it for Christmas last year, so it's got the most updated guts...it is a bit pricey, but jeez it's brilliant! Just my .02.

Plus, you cannot beat the 360/arrows/all-direction coverage...great, now I sound like an ad...and NO, I'm not making any money for the plug! lol (bang)
seing that you are in DC the detectors must be invisible to radar/laser detecter detectors...where are you mounting it? I seen som custom jobs where they were in ashtrays or change drawrs

Thought I'd throw this out on the radar thread...has anyone noticed a diminished range/pickup capability of their detector due to adding tint to the rear window?

i got a passport 8500 red. Love it, picks them up pretty early. No false negatives on Ka or k band. X band is another story, i pick up a lot of businesses and gas stations in the city, but once you know your city you can expect it and ignore it. I am still getting used to the POP, not sure how it works.
I love my radar, i heard very good things from the Valentine but its way pricier than the passport, and its not that much better. I got my passport for 200 new of ebay

The thing i love the most about mine is the battery operation! no cables to get caught and look messy infront of the NAV. =p

I have the Escort Solo S2. Cordless. Other than battery life it is a great unit. I hadn't used a detector in years and while I drive sensible or at a nice clip in traffic, it is aways nice to have an extra "head-up".
