Well, just a quick story to share w/ my fellow MSP'ers:
Driving home from work on a back street (windows down, radio low) I come to a stop sign & on the opposite sidewalk there's two guys walking. I could hear them loud & clear...
Guy 1) "What's that"
Guy 2) "A Mazda 6 I think"
Guy 1) "DAMN!)
Then, to put the icing on the cake, I give her just enough juice to release the angriest gaggle of turkeys from 1st - 3rd!
Guy 1 & 2) *Full 180 look back!*
Me in Car) *ear to ear grin*
Ahh....the MSP is still turnin' heads...God I love this car!

My friends just dont know what to say about the turkey... or the fact that my car is spicy orange.
However it sure does get looks on the street. I get thumbs up all the time... ahhh.

It seems i used to get more looks. Now that my exhaust is so loud, people dont notice the turkey as much. There is nothing like ridding up to someone with there window down and droppin a few calls.

I get a lot less head turns in grey than yellow. Ah, the good old days. I sure do miss the yellow. Good story though.

I got stares and "Nice fuckin car" from a few people at a gas station the other day. I had just cleaned her up so the shine factor was high. :) Made me kinda proud.

Yeah...the other looks I get are the "pissed off teenager" looks from kids in ricey neons, and wanna-be-evo Lancers. You know the look....the full angry stare as they take the turn in front of you then stomp on the gas...LOL! Like I'm gonna feel intimidated! Gotta love it!!
In another "episode" I had the angry-teen ride up along side in his Pep-boys exclusive exhaust on an otherwise stock lancer & rev the shit out of it....I let him run up about 50 yards then ripped by so that he could feel the wrath of the Turkey!!!
LOL!!!!!(rofl)

Like I always say, I couldn't turn more heads if I was driving a friggin' Ferrari drop-top. I just got back from a night out with a buddy. We hadn't been out in the Spicy for a while, and he finally commented "I was about to wonder why everyone was staring at me and smiling, and then I remembered we're in your Mazda".
I absolutely love this car. I hate the fuel/timing tuning in this heat, but that can and will be fixed.
Since I bought my MSP in January...if I had a dollar for every time someone gave me a thumbs-up, a smile, a wave, a neck-snap (or an tough stare from the angry teen ricers, which means the same thing), I would have been able to retire two months ago. I wouldn't trade this thing for the world. I drive constantly for my job as a real estate appraiser (8k miles in 4 months), and if I go more than 30 minutes between double-takes, I wonder what's wrong, lol. The best part: It can back it up! If the air is cool, it will take most of the ricers in a straight line, and there's only been one car I didn't pass in the twisties...a brand new 911, and only because I didn't want to risk having to repair someone's $90,000 ride if I made an error in judgement. I could have passed that 911 twice going up a local mountain road. He was in shock. See my sig for my attitude about my MSP...

I was going through a police check point where they check your vehicle inspection sticker and liscence plate sticker. The cops usually take one quick look at the stickers and wave you through. The cop who stopped me walked around my car twice then walks to my window and says "This is some sweet car." I just nodded and off i went. So far that's the most attention a police officer has given me. :)

I like my orange car. It gets a lot of attention. Chicks dig it!
Many people think it's custom.

The combination of the looks and the turkey is great. I am ruthless about "turkey-ing" anyone who looks like they deserve it. All hotties get the turkey....any assholes....random people walking...other mazda people! One Msp owner turkeyed me back when we were stuck in traffic and we both started going nuts on it....funny as hell.
As far as the looks go almost every girl I have picked up for a date or has seen me get into my car has some sort of "this is your car?!?!" reaction like I have a porsche or something!! Hey...it's been proven girls like shiny objects!!

love the speed...
HATE the "what BOV is that?" question... worst part is these freaking ricers in my school don't bel;ieve i don't have one... then i gotta take 20 minutes to explain how a diverted IC pipe works with an intake... sound waves bouncing off metal as opposed to plastic.
true story: kid with a revo'd GTi, intake, exhaust, is talking all this shit about how MSP's are the slowest turbo car at one of our friday night car meets in front of everyone. i mean just being unusually cocky about this GTi, so we go to watch another race and i catch him on the way home, so i do the honks and give him a split second head start so he can't say i jumped before the third honk. so i put half a car on him and see this look on his face like he just walked in on his parents. anyway we get back to the meet and he's furious... all i said was... "what happened?" in frot ov everyone and i swear this kid wanted to kill me... point is, don't judge a book by its cover, that night 2 lightly modded MSP's also smoked 2 different SRT-4's... people are just so ignorant, and read too many magazines.

I usually get "what kind of a subaru is that?" probably cause my car is blue. I love when people start checking my car out in the parking lot, usually I just stand back and watch the look on their face
(shocked)
.. I think the question I get most often is simply, "What IS that?" People recognize that it's a Mazda, but can't get any further. And then when I tell them it's a MazdaSpeed Protege, they look even more puzzled. Around here, NOBODY knows what the hell my car is!
But the best part of owning my car is definitely being a female. People -- guys especially -- really don't have a clue what to make of it. I can't even count how many times a guy in some ricer has pulled up next to me and started revving like an ass .. and then just gawked as I left him owned. It cracks me up every time!

i used to say its a mazdaspeed protege, but then got tired of explaining everytime someone asks what that is. so now its just protege.

I say "It's a MazdaSpeed Protege" if I get a duh sort of look I just tell them "It's a special edition protege". Most people seem to understand that.

There aren't any mazdaspeed dealers around here, so not many people know what I'm talking about when I say Mazdaspeed. So I just say Protege. And usually, the people that actually care have heard of it and don't need it written out for them anyways

Here it seems ppl know what it is. They still turn their heads most of the time. The other day, same conditions, window down, radio off, and three 15 yo teens were at a stop and I could here them : "Hey look at the Mazdaspeed man." And the other one "Oh yeah Titanium, what a nice color". They got what they deserved, they got turkeyed.

I don't get shit with my speed. nobody tries to race me, no one looks, and No one knows what it is.
I use to say mazdaSpeed Protege.. now i say turbo'd protege. I have a silver one though.. Now when i owned my white 350Z... that was a panty dropper! Not anymore though... I don't really have any time for the import sceen anymore so i am never really around enthusiasts anymore. Which is good and bad. good on wallet (not buying every part) bad on fun!
However, i love the MSP. I will be keeping this one the full 5 years or until death do us part!!!! hopefully not my death!
Turkeys are fun but i can't wait to get my BOV!

I had to sell it for many reasons like maintenance and cost of gas, and Nissan wouldn't fix a factory screw up and it would have cost alot to fix on my own and i was already scrapping by with payments and insurance. It was also a piece of crap believe it or not. Also you couldn't fit anything in it. Going to Target or a big hit at the grocergy stre was nulled in that car!
But damn the pure NA rear wheel drive power was fun!!!! i miss it.

hey i know that kid has a silver gti isn't ?? Ok that night that i meet you i was with two other msp one yellow and my buddy mspeed101. he was talking shit about our cars and said that the msp is to slow that pissed me off but he doesn't know what kind of stuff the companies like perrin, ion , greedy etc is going to release so that doesn't matter i hate gti's owners because they think that they have the fastest car jajajajaj. he's friend of one of my friend that have the same kind of car but with the apr and intake and the same color.
