Does anybody else get a coating of rust on their brake discs after raining or washing their car - didnt happen on my last car.

Just go for a drive...It will come off.

yeah, it happens on ALL rotors, most you just cant see, but with alloy wheels they become aparent.

exposed steel rusts, its just a fact of life. all you have to do is drive around a bit and tap the brakes, it will go away.

now if your HUBS are rusting, then join the club. Mazda went cheap on us, and everyone's hubs (that are "coated" with crap paint) just rust, but there is a TSB to fix this, or you can do it yourself for cheap.

Yeah it happens on all cars. Even go to Lexus dealership and look at the rotors of cars that have been sitting for a couple days and they will have rust.

BRAKE FLUID protects way better, and it's made for brakes. :p

man I just tried the oil trick on the rotors. I almost f'n crashed, no stopping power at all!

yeah, well, they sand off the old paint, and rust, then paint them... but I think they probably do a better job of it than what the factory did.

if you really want to be rid of it forever then just get some aftermarket rotors, cadmium plated... not too expensive.
