Finally, I am getting a Protege..! Yay!
It's Silver 2000 1.8 LX model (for some weird reason, Canada has the trim levels named different than US for 2000 models!! I just found this out yesterday. So LX is the highest trim, which would be ES in Unites States...aah. ) And it's Auto..yes..the horror..but..I didn't have much choice. (Long story..anyhow.) But i guess since it's 1.8 instead of 1.6, shouldn't be too bad. I test drove the car today for about half an hour, and it seemed pretty nice.

The car has good off-the-line sprint from stop lines, but then I felt it lacks power as speed builds up. I read it on a review somewhere, and it was correct after all..
It is at least 500% better than my old car, so I am more than happy right now though :)

I like every bit about my protege..but..I just don't like the front styling 2000 model...2001 looks oh so so much better!

So..what kind of front grills are available for 2000 model? I looked up hundreds of pictures, looked thru Ebay and some other sites, but many people just kept them stock..or i didn't find anything that looked good to my taste..seems like there aren't that many mods available..

I am thinking of getting a clear side lights and change the front grill..but now where can i find a grill in Montreal..

I would say go with the erebuni kit, that's what i'm trying to go with.
congrats on the car, i wasn't lucky enough to get the 1.8, got stuck with the 1.6, which means that you are going to get a little more aftermarket support than me. anyway, good luck with he car. :)

Hello from a fellow Montrealer.

You can also get the Onderground skirt kit. Its made in Quebec on the south shore. MotegiMazda had it on her car, but it got crashed. Just search with that user name and it will give you an idea of what it looks like.

The car right now is 1991 Plymouth Sundance..
Even more horror!! aah but i got it for free(!) from my church reverend :)
Used it for a year, put 30,000 more km on odometer..it was my good horse.
3-speed auto with 100 or so HP..

Um..how much does the body kit cost? I was hoping to getting just the grill..
I saw the erubini pictures (Thank you shaneMazda2000) and they indeed look very nice..but..I don't have much money to put in a full body kit yet..they should go what..one grand..right?

no. the erebuni kit goes for like 650. maybe even cheaper on ebay. but then to get it painted and put on, you will be looking at over 1,000 total after pruchasing kit

if i can get just a grill..that would be nice..erubini site seems to have some grills but has everything for 2001 and up!! will they not fit in 2000?
