I ran into one of the Catz guru's on the web last night. He emailed me in reguards to selling some of his products to our community. I thought it was awsome, since these lights ft the MP5/MP3 awsome and look better. He advised me that he can get these light to me at cost, and I can intern sell them cheaper than anyone on the net. So, since I already have done the legwork, and got a great deal. I thought this would be an awsome chance to get some exposure to one of the aftermarkets greatest companies. Remember guys, the more these companies trust us, the better our market looks to vendors.

Everything I will sell from companies on here will be at no profit from me, but its in an effort to continue the support for our community, and forums.

So, with that out of the way, I need to see who will be interested in these lights. They are the real deal, and only will cost us around $50 more than the overlays I have seen and used to make my fogs yellow. You can specify the color, beam pattern of these lights to your liking. And they bolt right in to the housing on our cars within min. I will have mine later on this week, but there are cars already with them on here.

Here it is:

here is the discription from Catz:
The SR series offers you a choice of spot, fog, or driving lamp configurations in your choice of clear, yellow, or clear with a gold iridium bulb. A super-powerful 85-watt Hyper Bulb housed in a die-cast aluminum housing, combined with a heavy-duty reinforced Borosilicate lens gives you one of the best lighting values in the industry in a round configuration.
Color: Spot / Clear, Driving / Clear, Yellow, or Clear with a Gold Iridium Bulb, Fog / Clear, Yellow
Bulb: H3 12V 85W
Illumination Angle: Spot / 11 degrees, Driving / 33 degrees, Fog / 90 degrees
Size: 5.51"(diameter) x 2.42"(depth)
Contents: (2) SR lamps, (1) Single Relay, (1) LED Power Switch, (1) Switch Panel, (1) Fuse, and (1) Plug-in wiring harness.

Here are some on the DG P5:
http://dgmotorsports.com/Graphics/protege_2_tn.jpg

I can get these for $120+$15 shipping directly from Catz to you guys. Just put your name down just like a gb so I can get a count of how many people are interested, and then Ill get the final price. Remember, I dont want to make any cash out of this, I just want to get us noticed.
Thanks !
Mike

I'm in

FYI these lamps are rediculuosly bright, they give off an insane amount of heat, thus will bubble up paint on a lip, etc.

The spots are pretty much like lighthouses at the beach, they'll shine hundreds of yards ahead of you easily. With mine pointed to the ground 4' in front of the bumper I still light up cars at the stop light with a yellow hue.

Also, as far as installation goes, they don't technically mount right up. I may be wrong, but I was expecting a direct swap into the stock brackets. I ended up having to take mine off and drilling the bumper to make them fit right side up.

some pics of mine below

Hey Joe, what If you change the 85W H3 bulb to the 55W ones that come in our cars?

Also, that pattern you have looks like the (spot) ones right?
The reason I ask is im getting these delivered WED.

Joe just informed me that Catz will no longer sell these in the US. So this might be a last chance to get them.

man these are great! looking at the fog pattern they are way better than stock and they seem to go further down the road compared to stock.

I'm in as well, but since I just got my lip I'm kind of concerned about the heat that these lamps give off, how should I go about resolving that potential problem?

These look like a steal and I really love where the beam projects! I want the spot beam. Let us know more info when you get it and PM me about info & payment instructions.

Okay, so out of curiosity, does anyone know if the fogs or even possibly driving lights are level-beamed? I'm pretty sure the spots wouldn't be,and I can't quite tell from the pics, but it seems like the driving lights are fairly high as well. I jsut really prefer to be couteous. I Hate when you're out on a dark road at night and have oncoming traffic blinding you with un-aimed foglights.

since there is no bracket the aiming is all up to you

i left mine 3/4 tightened and had them wedged against the bumper, which allowed me to get out of the car and move them at any time I wanted.

I got mine working again, I'll take some pics up at the neighborhood pool from 200 yards away tonight. Its insane. If you don't aim low you will end up getting attention from the cops.

don't suppose they have one to fit the 99 ES, eh?

SR series are all same size, catz may have smaller lamps

Poseur

I'm not concerned about being able to aim them I'm concerned about what the beam is like. A stock foglight or a TRUE fog light at that would have a flat horizontal cutoff above which no light is allowed, and blow which you've got lots. This is ideally what I want.

That what the fog pattern has. The lens is different and it has a diffuser to block light from going up.

Ghost,
I may be wrong but I know the lens is somewhat different, but I am not sure of the "diffuser" on the fog beams. I am pretty sure its not like the stock fog lamps where it covers the entire upper 180* of output

Ghost:
Is it possible to get the lens clear instead of yellow. I am interested in changing my foglights for a brighter white light with a crystal clear lens. Is this possible?
If so I am in!

The diffusing is done with the actual reflector pattern and the outer lens.

this is a really good deal...got mines for about 100.00 that was our cost, i work at a shop out in CA...these lights are sick...if you do get a 55w bulb, you dont need to use the caztz wiring, i just used my stock wiring to wire these lights up...brackets were a little off, but i really just wanted the look....great deal, jump on this deal...

with these being 85w does anyone know about the possibility of using bluebatmobile's smoked overlays? or would the extra heat just entirely screw them up?

ghetto waggon
06-08-2004, 11:24 PM
I dont know why the hell you'd want to use overlays on these fogs
The yellow lens looks hot as it is

PS you dont use catz wiring anyway->splice into stock harness

Looks hot (2thumbs)

Are the japanese series available? Mine don't have the ribs on the lens like yours do, and the useless directions were in japanese.

what beam pattern did you go with?

ghost do you happen to know what the fog pattern looks like?

Poseur
06-11-2004, 04:05 AM
I'd be willing to bet that the clear/lined lens ha something to do with the pattern you choose. I'd assume the fully clear lens would be spot, with the driveing and fog having some form of diffused lens.

well when you're going for a complete classic red/black theme yellow isn't going to work. anyone have any suggestions to the melting overlays question?
dont get me wrong but still i question, why you would buy similar (same colored) fog lamps (with worse fit) and then buy the overlays and put them on those pricier new fogs.
