When did you buy your Mazda 3, how much mileage do you have on it, and what types of problems, repairs etc. have occured till now?

I will start buy putting in my own input:
The stock tires are shit, loud and wear out too fast, 11 000 km's on my car and I am already looking into michelin Alpin Pilot A/S.
Glovebox clip broke - Replaced
Faulty air bag sensors - needed replacement
Defect in fuel pump - needed replacement
Glovebox does not close properly - will bitch about that Monday
Front brake calipers are all rusted, I dont even see that on a 3 year old hyundai - something I will bitch about to Mazda
Front rotors are grooved and rusted in grooves - something I will also bitch about to Mazda
The Air Conditioner is a piece of shit - wont stop bitching about that for the rest of the summer
Overall, this is a first year car and problems are to be expected, I still love the car and dont regret buying it. I would still recomend this car to anyone that wants a fun car and an awesome ride for the price.
My car was driven off the lot December 9th 2003 and has between 11 000-12 000 kilometers on it

i bought mine in january, i have ~7000 miles on it... its a silver 3s
1. noticed "slight" grooving on rear rotors, not nearly as bad as other members... actually, im not concerned at all about it considering they should hold until someone hooks it up with better rotors and what not... i guess im luckier than most people
2. only thing ive done is replace the oil twice, taken off the resonator... no other problems ecept,
3. the damn car never wants to stay clean
mikey444, ive think youve just got bad karma or something man, youre laundry list of problems are just sad... i kinda feel bad that my car is damn near flawless so far... knock on wood
the a/c is a little annoying, but my civic was the same way... tint the windows maybe

Drove mine off the lot March 29th, 2004. Manumatic ocassionally does not respond when trying to floor it and shift from 1st to 2nd around higher rpm's. Air conditioner is good and I have a rear brake dust problem. I can't tell whether my rotors are grooved or not.

Me it's all with the front rotors and calipers, the rear is awesome looking, the condition is great.
I thank you all for your input.
And I do keep the maintenance and all cars very tight, everything that needs routine lub/replacement is done with no delay.

Just for those wondering, the problem I noticed with my fuel pump is that it did not give the engine enough gas on startup. which is bad for the starter cause you had to run it like twice for quite a few seconds, in low speeds too, the car would not get enough gas and it would drag behind. When you turn off the vehicle, it those not cut off on comand like it should. The dealer checked the fuel pump and it was defective, it took them 2 weeks to get a new one
Bought mine 4 months ago. Zero problems in 1325 miles. Smooth rotors, some rear brake dust, nothing that bothers me though. The a/c is doing better now that it's climbing into the 90's. It always starts right up. No CEL's. Just a great little car. I'm glad I bought it.

I bought mine 3/5/04 and now have 1877 on it and I drive it every day. I just live where everything is within 10 miles. My friend is the sales manger @ my local dealership and we talked last night. He said the only thing Mazda is recognizing is the airbag sensor problem. His thought was if the problem continues to grow that MazdaUSA may issue a recall, his words not mine.
I don't think they are gonna do anything for brake pads...best bet is to just get ceramic when the ones you have now go(since they are already going really fast now)

I do live only about 2 miles from work :) No long trips yet, but the milage is going to skyrocket during the summertime, I guarantee it.

Build date: 12/03
Purchase date: 2/23/04
Miles: ~6,500
oil changes: 1st at 1,000, second at 5,000
Problems:
-Rear brake dust is awful
-Had the airbag sensor replaced
-Glove box door is acting funny but I think I can fix it with a flat file and about 5 minutes
-ummm... that's about it. the a/c is a little weak but it's still better than 4-70 a/c. (crazy)

I dont think Mazda is even going to do a recall for the airbag sensors, they are too cheap, they will just replace the ones that are faulty when the light comes on, that's it, once your general warranty is up, oh well, that's Mazda.

hello, I purchaced mine in April and have 2400 miles on it. Great little car so far and I'm glad I purchaced it. I do notice the rear brake dust problem, and my passengers side front window makes a poping sound when its risen just as it closes. The A/C is pretty week, you have to have it one level 3 when the temp rises over 90....
other than that so far so good!
I'll definatly keep everyone informed, please do the same....
peace!

I've found that sometimes you just have to pull the glovebox towards you a tad while you shut it... otherwise it tends to miss the catch on the edge nearest the door.
I just attribute it to a huge opening and support via plastic..

2500 miles since February and it's running great: 25 mpg too. I do have the rear brake dust issue. Two passengers in back or one large one will make the car hit the bump stops in back (my theory anyway). The car handles fantastic and it is quick. (rockon)

Just about 3k since getting mine in April. No issues other than more brake dust in the back. Nothing major. Hope somehow, someway your luck turns for the better Mikey.
