Question. Lots of reccomended maintainance gives both a time and a mileage. I put very few miles on the car and will be no where near the mileage suggestion when the time rolls around. Is it safe to delay such things? For example, in 3 months I drive a max of 1000 miles, should I still swap out my mobil1? Timing belt says 4 years or 60k. At 4 years I have 40k... do it anyway? I thought maybe regardless of mileage the time factor alone could wear components with all the heating and freezing of the seasons, but if anyone has an idea, that'd be great.

Well its not good to leave the oil sitting in the car for long periods of time without changing it. As far as oil goes yeah I would change it. As far as belts go I would get them inspected before I get them changed, they should be okay as long as the car isnt sitting somewhere will it will be open to the elements.
