Hi all

So I removed the 5 little plastic plugs once the back seats are down. Now I'm stuck. I see lotsa screws and plugs from the trunk but don't know which ones to remove.

Can anyone give me instructions on how to remove the rear 6x9 speakers in a 2000 ES Protege'.

Thanks
Nick

Lets see if I can remember:
the ones beind the seats., the 3 childs seat bolts (and their plastic covers)
pop the seat belts out of the sides of the rear deck. You can snap the piece that covers the hole for the middle seat belt off and slide it thorough. Pull up on the rear deck lightly, it snaps into the side pillars...then if you have a 3rd brake light disconnect that. and it should pull right out. Grap a phillips head and unscrew away!

or you could come down here and I can do it for you ;)

Sure fire handy trick. Once the 5 plugs are out, on the lower front vertical edge of the deck peice, right in the middle of the pass-through opening, give it a good whack straight up with the open palm of your hand. It'll pop upward, then pull it up and toward you (towards the front of the car.) Before you put it all back together, make sure the trunk light hasn't pulled out of it's little hole, or you'll have fun looking for the spare on a dark night.
