What would happen if i were to spray off my engine with the hose?theres lots of splashs on it.

I've wondered the same thing about cleaning the engine. Somehow I just can't see taking a hose to the engine. Seems like too much water and electrical crap in the same area can't be good.

Spray a bunch of Simple Green, wait a couple minutes, hose it off. Dry excess with towel.

Cover the battery and around the spark plugs if you're really concerned.

yes i had a cyl three misfire after i sprayed my engine bay because the water got int he plug area...i used excess vacuum line and sucked out the water and spit it on the ground. started up just fine and no CEL after that (thumb)

also, be careful. i know with my turbocharger, my manifold and what not gets UBER HOT, and if you spray it off with some ice cold water, i heard it could crack..figure 50 degree water hitting 1300 degree manifold cant be good.
