How much horsepower does my 2001 Sedan ES (2.0L) make? It's 130, isn't it??? Is it similar to the MP3? Same horsepower or different?
Thanks so much guys

your car has 130 HP 135 tq I believe, and the mp3 is 140hp 142 tq, if memory serves... mostly due to advanced timing

at the ground, 100whp/110lbft..that seems to be the trend..mp3's have about 110whp/120lbft...those are rough numbers..and yes, it the timing and the missing VTCS..

What? I thought it was 130, 135? If it's 100 that means a 4 door dx civic auto makes more than my car...That doesn't seem right...I can beat coupe 5spds and sometimes ex's (vtech) can someone explain this to me???

100-110 at the ground.... 130-135 at the crank
just fyi, all manufacturers list crank hp

Mazda has been known to overrate too.
When are they finally going to change official ratings to WHEEL hp? American car companies will fight that one...since some of those rear wheel drive cars have 40% drivetrain loss. Also, a WRX probably only puts 165 to the ground(STIs baseline maybe 210). With the importance manufacturers place on those 'flywheel' numbers, it won't come easy.

NO, i mean VTCS..MP3's don't have variable tumble control..for cold start emissions...it causes turbulence in the air pathway in the intake mani..

Ok i am gonna throw something out. the vehicle is rated @ 130bhp....bhp means brake hp. so does that mean its 130 @ the brakes???? We always say crank/flywheel hp but why are manufacturers #'s bhp??? This question has been bugging me. otherwise civic ex's actually rate @107 whp... but they have less torque, as do the vtec's. Although i doubt u are beating any vtec's...no offense.

brake as in brake dyno.... not at the brakes
it measures HP at the crankshaft

I do get beat by VTech's, but I also beat 2-3...When teenager drivers racing a stick and they aren't that good, it's not that hard, its a drivers race...I am only 15 but I have been driving stick for 1 1/2 years, so I'm pretty good, can heel-toe, all the other stuff...If it was the same driver, the EX would take the cake...
