Do I need an adj. cam gear if I install the FS-ZE intake cam or the timing will be ok without it?
Thanx!

The J-Spec intake camshaft is the OEM piece from Mazda in the 170hp FS-ZE engine. The camshaft has added 10-12 whp on stock FS engines.
Also show to be very effective on turbocharged models.

i just installed the J-spec cam two weeks ago, and my high rpms are much more impressive. No adj cam gears, dont need them! I cant tell exactly whats giving me all the gains though, i did the cam, unorthodox pulley, flywheel, clutch, stainless clutch line, redline fluid, motor mounts, and header at the same time. But after all that, its definately a different car! If you can same up, it makes a pretty strong all motor car.

Guys with early FS-DEs in Probes and 626s got that kind of power with OBDI. OBDII will learn around it.

If you do a search you will find my dyno charts w/ the J-spec intake cam and Mazdaspeed exhaust cam. Not very impressive if you ask me... Yet that is....
