The next time you go into the dealership ask them to hook up the computer to the car to see if there is a new update, it won't cost anything if you are still under warrenty. Info like that is updated everyday on their computers.

i doubt it.

Not with the current prices of gas, and the fact that they're going to get a lot higher soon....

Ugh. I had my first > $30 fill-up this morning.

think about it, why should mazda spend it's attention and money on a production car with < 6000 units released???
they have their attention focused on the 3, 6, and MSM.

they dont give a flying f^ck about proteges anymore.

it's like if they came out with a flash for MX-6.........

well, for one thing, our cars have something called a warranty whereas the mx-6 does not.

And because people look at previous Model Mazda's to determine things like Reliability, history of troubles etc when deciding on whether or not to buy one of their new shiney 3/6 or MSM's. Any troubles with previous model's can ruin a company's pruduct and rep very quickly.

So, they better not forget about the protege's for now.

Is this BS? Heard anything about it guys?Well its June !!......I got a service survey from Mazda on how I like my dealership and car....the dealership got flying marks.....the car on the other hand had a question about whether the car has met my expectaions.....well the answer was no it is below my expectations...Owning a Mp3 which is a well balanced car with very little issue other than the cluck...I expect a MSP would be the MP3 with a turbo.....well sadly it is not a well balanced car with few issues...

The hesitaiton is still there
I have a coolant smell and have had it checked 3 times replacing the clamps
Changed the bushings twice

Don't get me wrong for 27 K ( cdn dollars ) is a good car but not my expectaions.

This is slightly OT but have you ever checked your coolant level? Coolant smell can come out of the overflow bottle because your bay is boiling hot and it has that overflow hose. If your levels are steady on coolant your just smelling coolant, not loosing it.

let me know when they have a flash that'll fix the clunk, faulty headunits, and broken LSD's.

I just talked to the dealership and they said that they just released a new set of bushings for the front sway bar last week. Im getting them installed on Wednesday. We will see if that fixes it.

When you get them please post the part number......

also I monitor the coolant level closely...yes it could be overfill but I am keeping a eye on it..

Good idea, I've had the smell one way or another but my level has never wavered nor have I shown signs of a leak.

-tj- You guys do realize we have coolant cooled turbos and oil coolers right? We will always have a coolant smell and it will always be stronger after you have driven your car for awhile (especially hard). I suggest if your coolant level doesn't drop then leave it alone 'cause there is nothing that the dealership is going to be able to do for you.

uhh.. the 156E bushing is a legit clunk fix. Been out for a while now, and it works very well. I had the clunk before, but since i got them on in Feb or so.. no clunk.

Oh yea, i doubt there will be another flash...

HAHA, I thought you were kidding. Turn down your radio and you'll hear that clunk more and more. (pow)

Seriously though, I can't see Mazda working on a new flash. All the MSP's are sold and they got their money. They will be working on current and new models now.

the new flash-
I was the one to write that
we were looking into moding the stock cumputer at sequia institute when one of my teachers told me he knew the man that wrote the origanal ford program we are using.
So we talked to him about the origanal flash and he said it works but needs to be improved on and said they will probaly have the new flash out in july or so.
I can't say if he was honest or lying to buy time on the first shit flash, but it's what he told us.
only time will tell

Aren't the dealerships able to "tune" our cars, or do they receive the "flash" from a higher source? I really don't think just an updated flash will help everyone. We are all running different mods (mostly), and at different boost levels. We would probably just need a custom tune... or am I wrong?

Yes, the good doctor is right. Unless the flash involves a hot chick raising her shirt that aint gonna be no mo flashes from Big Momma Mazda oh no siree.

I may have said june, but I don't remember.
anyway if they do another flash it won't be for mods it'll be for the stock msp the only difference would be that they took the time to do it right like they should have to begin with.the flash we have now is just as bad as the stock ecu but without just doesn't feel like it

thats why i'm unflashed

Just because they failed on you ( due to bad install obviously) doesn't mean they do not work. Very few, and I mean a very small % of owners here have had troubles with the E's. And, those that have failed, seem to be using old sway bars or had dealer install them wrong. Mine have been fine since Nov, 2003 ( knock on wood). I have gotten a few squeaks since April, lube will fix that as others have stated ( I've been using wd-40 and for some reason it works....go figure)

Of course, if some of you would venture over to the MP3 section....you know the other car that was out 2 years before your precious MSP's!( and a little common sense would tell ya that they've been through most of this and more already) you would know all of this months ago.

That is not directed at anyone one person. Just a general statement.

I ran a search and learned that the new flash will involve Hooters girls. My buddy is a Daewoo Tech who's cousin's former roomate worked as a mailboy for Mazda NA and he confirmed it. Unfortunately the ECU will learn around the girl and she'll forget my beer. Where's the Mazdaspeed Avenger now damnit???
