Do your coiloevers make your mp3 handle better?
Please only answer if you have an mp3 with coilovers installed.

Also, please list which ones you have.

I'd say no if you get the ground controls. It will probably make it worse. Other more expensive coilovers might make it handle better.

I don't see why they wouldn't. The ground control ones use eibach springs I think. The only reason I can think of as to why the would hamper handiling is if you have them all the way down or not even. A lot of racing cars are sponserd, and use ground control products, so if you use a coil over setup corectly they would handle the same as a reagular spring if not beter.
There are coil over kits out there that are just for show purposes only they are usually like $40 each and will make your car handel like a shopping cart.

If you get coilovers to improve handling, my suggestion is to get a set of struts with adjustable dampening. If you are going to put money into a new suspension go all the way and don't go out the cheap way. But if you just want lower your car, sure, just get the coilovers.

FYI, we autox our MP3 and had to go to GC to get the higher spring rates and lower CG we required. I must say that the ride as well as the handling are incredible.

It's totally not like the GC's you've sat in Hondas with. This is much better. Most likely due to the sway bars allowing preload to be maintained on the spring.

Talk to wheelguruuu, he'll let you know what he likes about it. we are using the factory MP3 struts as well.

ARD MP5 - that's exactly the answer I wanted to hear!!! :D I sent you a PM a little while ago asking a couple questions and never got an answer, but I won't hold it against you!! I know your busy, but really one more question I had for you or wheelguruuu was did you need to install any camber kits after, and did you have any problems with inside tire ware??? Just curious cause I'm about to get them for my MP3. Anyway, if you can let me know that would be great!

Thanks!!

We had no camber issues at all. Even after dumping the thing as seen here:

No tire wear problems. The biggest thing for tire wear is your toe setting. If you rotate don't worry as a little negative camber is always good. hehe.

Thanks, Rishie

I hope you know we are a GC distributor so contact us for your club pricing.

Rishie, thanks so much for the reply! I used to own a 98 Eclipse GS and man the problems with the camber on that car were ridiculous!! I must of went through 4-6 tires the last year I had it, hence why I got so fed up. I just want to make sure I do my MP3 the right way! What's the best way to contact you for pricing on the GC's?? Hotmail or PM? Let me know because I will be wanting to order some within the next week or so. Thanks so much!

I have GC and I love them the only down fall, is after you install them it would be wise of you to get an alignment, I had to get some new tires. They seem to handle really well, compared to the Tokico, which thise were not that bad either.

Come to think of it, there is another down fall to the GC, if they are all the way down, you night have a problem with SPEED BUMPS LOL:p

mikesmazda155 - great to hear from someone that actually has them!!! :D I am going to be installing them myself, but will definitely be getting an alignment after!! As you read my earlier post I had much trouble with my Eclipse. Thanks for your input!!
