View Full Version : Injectors hitting 100% ??? WTF

Ok I finally got my Apexi AVC-R hooked up properly (or so I think) and I have noticed that my injectors are hitting 100% under heavy boost, from about 8psi up sometimes. I hooked the injector wire to pin 100 on the ecu which is the 4th injector. Other than heavy boost it seems to be working fine.
Also I noticed that the RPM gauge on the Apexi only shows RPM's while the injectors are doing something. The RPM also drops to 0 sometimes when the injectors hit 100%. When the car is at idle the injectors are at 0% most of the time, is this normal? once I give it some gas it seems to be fine.
Hopefully someone has some ideas cause its over my head (loser)
oh should mention that I am still using stock injectors

I didn't think the apexi avc r worked with our cars.....?

I think your talking about the SAFC, the AVC-R is for boost only, it will work quite easily.

You need to connect the RPM signal for the AVC-R to pin 48 (Purple/White) on the PCM (Tach signal). The injector wire will not work.

I did that and then the injectors display nothing, do you have one and its working?

If you use pin 48 (tach signal) for the RPM signal on the AVC-R, then you can't monitor the injector duty cycle -> only RPM.
We have one on our MP3-T and I have one on my MSP.

Can someone else verify this, does the greddy one not read the injectors right?
So how to you setup the boost properly then? because it asks you what duty cyle% you want and I found that you have to set the boost number low and the duty at say 70% the boost went way above where I wanted it. It did the exact same thing when I had it running on the RPM's. I am sure I am doing something wrong just not sure what :(

The "duty cycle" refers to the Boost Control Solenoid duty cycle, not the injector duty cycle.
Pages 22 and 23 of the instruction manual explains how to setup the Boost Control.

Aight, do me a favor tell me what you have set on yours boost and duty cycle and I will try it on mine and see what my boost does, let me know what yours boost on these settings. When I set my boost in the config it does not hold where it says it will, it goes waaaaaaaaaay above that. Maybe something else is wrong.

I have my boost pressure set to .60 (8.7 psi) and the duty cycle set to 25%. It is currently in self-learning mode (which is what you want).

ok another question, when you turn the duty cycle up higher do you notice that it spools up faster? I noticed that, I will try it tomorrow and see how it works.
thanks for the info

you're right :) (gun)

If you turn up the duty cycle higher, there is a chance you will overshoot your target boost pressure.

yeah thats whats happening in my case, maybe its because I had the duty cycle set up around 50
guess its time to (rtfm)
