Just wondering if anyone knows what can I do or who could I talk to regarding this issue......
Some of you may have read that recently I was having problems with my Tranny so I sent it in to the dealer to get fixed. The tranny was to be replaced under warranty. This was diagnosed on Apr 22 2004. It is now May 25 2004 and still my car is sitting in the lot. The dealer and Mazda Canada keep telling me that they cannont give me an E.T.A.
Now I'm beyond mad and frustrated, I no longer have the energy to be upset 'cause I know it'll get me nowhere. The dealers only resolution to keep me satisfied was to put me in a P5 as oppose to the LX rental I'm currently driving. But when I decided to switch there was not one available. They continue to say there's nothing they could do for me to keep me satisfied.
So then I file a complaint with Mazda Canada and their response is the same, they won't do anything.
I looked into filing a complaint with CAMVAP, they are like the Better Business Bureau in Canada for cars, unfortunatley they don't feel I have a strong enough case to take legal action, inconvienience and loss of car use is not what they cover.
So....my excitement and faith in Mazda has diminished....This is my first car, after 3 months the tranny fails and now i've had to wait a month to get it fixed...and still waiting. I don't want be negative and I know that this is not a common matter with Mazda cars...that's why I bought one, but really enough is enough.
Can anyone suggest where or who I can talk to? I've run out of patience and am very dissapointed with Mazda.

If "There's nothing we can do to satisfy you" is their claim, they need a little more imagination. Hit em' up for some free brake pads, oil filters, sport struts... if They can't come up with anything, I'm sure you can.
If their better business bureau won't help you out with this, they're obviously too busy settling cases with businesses that sell leaky diapers, or salt shakers that jam up within a week. Tell the dealer, Mazda Canadia, and the CAMVAP to eat ur a$$.
And don't tell them (if it's not too late) that CAMVAP turned you down... keep that card under the table if you can.

i haven't told anyone that CAMVAP wouldn't do anything, i'm still trying to be persistent and getting something out of it, thanx for the encourgement shades...
and yes hi-perf, that's what they keep telling me. It's just they haven't made any efforts to satisfy me as a customer.
it's been 5 weeks and counting, however they said that the tranny is on it's way, it was released last thursday from the U.S, hope fully it'll be in this week.

...not nearly the significance or frustration of your situation but I am having my issues with Mazda lately also. My car is in need of a new inner wheel bearing on the front right side. It's VERY annoying but at least I still have use of my vehicle. Mazda told me they were on national backorder as well... I've been waiting nearly two months now. When I finally called to see if the part was in yet they actually tried to tell me it had already been fixed! You see I'm now close to being out of warranty--but I brought the car in while it was still covered so they HAVE to complete the work. The weasels...
I wonder why Mazda can't find parts for it's cars? Ford and GM never seen to be "nationally-backordered" on any of their parts and I'm sure they replace far more pieces than Mazda! :)
What year is the car? How many miles?
You're right that you can't get upset. Yelling and screaming just makes things worse. You do that and you bring it to a personal level. Now the bastards don't WANT to help you. Sounds like you may have reached that point anyway...
I would do as Shades said. Make them give you something. Hell... I'd "suggest" the give you a deal on a new 2.3L 3. An even swap would be fair in my mind ;)

the car is a 2003 ES with only 3600km, roughly 2500m...that's what pisses my off the most that the tranny went only after 2 months...at this point i'd love to do a swap but because of certain legal matters i would lose out in the end anyways, i'd end up paying more, unless there's something you know that i don't.
man, youre not the only one sitting without the tranny. Mdaghost103 has similar problem. His tranny blew 3 times by now and he has only around 11 or 12k miles on his automatic Pro. Weird...

so far ive seen only about 5-6 people on this forum with auto tranny problems. Mazda should freaking do a recall or something... As long as you dont abuse and dont drop from neutral, its fine. But if something happens because of daily driving, thats a factory defect.

Hey guys. I have a 2001 es 5sp. My car had about 25000 miles on it when my tranny went as well. It ended up taking over 9 weeks to repair the tranny(the 1st time). Part after part was ordered...then they would wait...order another part...wait another 2 weeks....so on and so on. And all this with no loaner car... I had been calling from week 2 on asking for a loaner car and would get the same speech every time. (Have none left) Well about a week ago the 9 week wait was up. Drove in after work one night...finally picked up the car....and gave the dealership quite the lashing....and you know what happened. On the way back merging onto the highway, I went to put it into 4th gear. It would not stray in gear. Would continuously pop into neutral. 5th was the same. How could they give me a car with out even test driving it first!? I was pissed. Brought the car back. b1tched out the general manager and demanded a loaner car. I could not beleive it.
took one more week for them to finally get it right and to just swap in a brand new tranny. To think they had any idea how to rebuild/repair mine.
Its been 2 days so far, and all looks good. But i can tell you this. I will never be purchasing a mazda again, nor will I ever reccomend them again.
This was Gallo Mazda Worcester,MA
Worst Customer Service ever.
Complaint has been filed with Mazda National.
I dont know what else to tell you. I talked with a lawyer as well, and it seems like it needs to almost be 3-4months + before you can have a case.
Quite sad.....
Ne wayz just call them everyday, and bug the #&%# out of them. I went in there ready to tear the place down and they knew that. Give em hell
Better yet...go in there one day with a tow truck, tow the car right out front and ---> Proceed to beat the car with a sledge hammer. Then get some insurance money :)

finally after 6 weeks and 2 days my car has returned home. Sure enough when I got it it was dirty from all the rain and other stuff like bird droppings leaves etc. I was just happy to get my car back so I didn't bitch about it, plus I rather wash my own car.
I am however still looking into what could be done because of the LONG wait. Mazda replied to my complaint letter finally...i'll post it when I get the time. It's funny how they respond around the time it gets fixed.
Thanx all for your advice and words. Hopefully that every thing from here on in goes smooth with my car.
