Hey guys. I just got back from the shop, attempting to install my GC coilovers. The problem is the sleeves won't clear the shocks. There is a little piece on the end of the shocks that's either welded on or some sort of permanent attatchment, am I supposed to pry that off or something? I think they'd fit without that. I bought these used from LiLiTaLy, who got them from someone who had the on a p5. I'm assuming p5 shocks and msp shocks are different, so do these not fit the MSP? I have pics of what I'm talking about, but I'm not at home right now (friends house). I'll upload them later, but if anyone here who's got them installed could tell me if they're supposed to easily clear the shocks i'd appreciate it. I guess if the p5 GCs won't fit the MSP I'll try to get my money back and save up for real coilovers this time.

If you are talking about the top of the strut, that metal cap does come off...Turn the strut upside down, get a screwdriver, and tap all around that little cap. It'll come off fairly easily. If that's not what you are talking about, then I'll have to wait for some pics...

yeah i'm talking about the top of the strut, after it's off of the car and all the top cop. i didn't want to rip it off not knowing if it was the right thing or not. if anyone has a pic of the msp strut i can point it out, but i can't upload the pic here. also, are you supposed to cut the bumpstop in half and take out half of it? i've been reading that but I dunno what I'm supposed to do with it.

I never installed them but I'm for sure they fit the MSP because many other people on this board use them. Hopefully they can chime in and give you some more information about this.

Ok, then I'm guessing I pop that cap off the end of the shock, can anyone confirm this please? I really wanna get back to the shop and have these on by tonight. Also, if I don't get an alignment till monday would that be very bad for it? I can do a basic alignment at the shop, but not a fine super duper good one.

All you do is pop off the little cap with a screwdriver, put sleeves over and then pop it back on. Really easy, I just wasn't sure if it was what I was supposed to do. I love these things, car handles a million times better now.
