View Full Version : HELP!!! A/C Not working right...

So I jump in the car this morning and hit the air con. I was driving along when I noticed it was very hot in my car. With a bit of playing I worked out that when my cimate dial is on the very coldest, cold air comes out but if I go just one click up in temp HOT air comes out. (notcool) Can anyone help me fix this???? (attn) Cheers.

How cold is the air?? I know that A/C should be in cabin should be like 40-42F...... Also when you click on the A/C does ur compresser come on...do u hear a click and ur other fan comes on??...let me know what ya fined out....

It does blow cold air (i.e air conditioned) but only when the climate knob is on the coldest setting . As soon as I go above that setting it blows hot :(

id check ur switch, it might have some short in it and switches it to hot way to early

But the temp switch is cable actuated, I know mine isn't attached right after I painted my dash ... when you turn it one click away from the coldest setting does the A/C light turn off? My AC light turns off when I put it on fan speed 2 or 3, and the air gets hot.

EDIT: But wait isn't it almost winter for you?

go back there and check ur cables , make sure they are connected good and not half way connected...

My A/C is blowing hot air. whats wrong with it. HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!

I had problems with my AC in my 01 Protege. It would blow out air from the outside without it being chilled. The dealership had to replace the entire AC console (control console and all). It was a pain in the ass because I had the ES and they put an LS AC console, so the interior lights did not match (green vs. orange). I had to take back for them to change it out again. Mazda AC sucks. I now have a Toyota and it will flat out freeze you. I need that in hot, humid Chas., SC.
