IMO, the Search springs will give you the best mix of handling & good looks.

I just had the Eibach Pro Kit just installed on my MSP 2 weeks ago. Initially, I thought that the Sportline would have been too radical a drop since their installation required camber bolts, but after seeing how my MSP has turned out I wish I had gone for the Sportline instead. The car looks good and rides quite nicely now. With the stock rims on there is about 3/4" space between the fenders and the tires, but I wish that the tires were tucked just a bit under the fenders. It think that it would have been a better result. At two weeks, I don't expect it to settle much more so I guess that I'll have to change next year and do coil-overs.

Quick summary of what a search will tell you in the 237 threads it will bring up.

Tein - Feel softer then stock RB springs (They are not actualy softer, they have a confirmed higher rate) Back drop is minimal in most cases. Not as bad as the Spool springs but it has been mentioned.

Eibach Pro kit - Less agressive. I have heard these called choppy and bouncy by people( I can't imagine them being THAT different) but most everybody who has them loves them.

Eibach Sportline - The lowest of the three overall, I have these springs and I couldn't be happier. I tuck just a bit on the front and ALMOST tuck the rear. It did alot to help the raised rear look the MSP has stock.

Here are a few pics from this weekend of the newly installed Eibach Pro Kit springs installed on my 2003.5 MSP. A bit more of a tuck would have been nice, but I'll leave it like it is for this season and then do coilovers next season.

For anyone who didn't pick up on my humor, the link I posted should answer ALL ?s regarding which springs are best for whatever you're looking for.

I believe they are all pretty much the same..

Tein is IMO a better spring. It has a rubber stopper on each end of the spring that will reduce the clicking of the suspension...

The teins are probaly the best after market spring for combining comfort and quality.
I just wish the dropped the rear a little more.

My local speed shop said to me to not drop my car more than a quarter of an inch due to my racing beat coils already drop my car .75 inch and the tokico will not support that and will not last very longer :(

Bah, what do they know? I think GCs or iON's race springs are the only ones that will actually wear out your Tokicos faster & iON even said it's only shortens the life by 10%.

you have to remember that msp's are already .875" and .75" lower than stock proteges.. so unless the springs are designed for msps, you ahve to factor that out... so with my pro kit, I got about an inch drop all around.

Ok now I was told by someone that the tein kit would only give you about a 3/4 inch drop because the speeds already have 3/4 inch drop stock. Do you get the full 1.5-2 inch drop from the tein springs? How much will they run me also?

tein s techs are 165 from apexri1.com. They'll drop you another .75in or so on an MSP.

The eibach pro kit and the Teins sound good as far as i can see, but does anybody know if they are safe for the car? Will either of them put stress on the car and shorten it's life? Also, im not looking for a HUGE drop, cuz i drive my MSP around everyday and i need some clearance and stuff like that, but i want to lower it a bit for a good aggressive look -- im not looking to take it to the track or anything. So, which set is best for a good look, nice ride, and durable. How much are they and where can i find them.

Rainman -- are you happy with urs? any probs/dislikes?

I love my Pro Kits. I was dissapointed with the initial drop, but as time passes they are still settling a bit. I won't have quite a tuck, but pretty close to it (although, I haven't stood outside and looked at the car when it had a full tank and rear passengers--it would probably be tucked then). Sometimes I think that I should have gone with the Sportlines, but others I am happy with the Pro Kits.

The handling is even better with the drop than it was originally. The only problem (same for any dropped suspension) is that you really, really need to look out for potholes. If you hit one at speed you'll think that you broke something causes the suspension will max out. Twice I hit potholes that I didn't see until too late and I had to get out to check whether I had killed my rims, or damaged my fenders.

Other than that, no problems. I didn't have them on until after the winter, but I know someone else with a Protege SE on Sportlines. His drop is more radical than mine and he drove all winter without problems. He didn't become a snowplow or anything like that. I only plan to run my MSP for one more winter, but I am not going to change the springs when I put my winters on. I will drive it as is and see what happens. I would have gone coil-springs for more of a drop, but knowing that I was going to winter it one more time, I didn't cause I didn't want to destroy the coil-overs.

Hope this helps.

I want to go with the Sportlines...they're significantly more expensive, but they seem to give just the look I want. As hard as it is to find a place that knows they exist, I think those are what I'll go with.
