Tire Recall?

Last year, when my friend bought the MS, he had the option to purchase an extra set of tires. Although he didn't need them, he knew the deal was good, so I bought them.

My car came out of storage today and I was about to have them installed when the mechanic told me they were recalled.

Bridgestone Potenza's RE040, in 215/45-17.

Is there any truth to that? And if so, what is Bridgestone will to do?

they're actually very good summer tires...its just that the tread wear rating sucks..

Never heard anything, and honestly the re040s are pretty damn nice for OEM tires. Yea theyres better and cheaper out there when you need replacements, but they should still last you 20k with proper maintenance and rotation.
