Looks like they have colored ebay CAI now. Pretty cool if I say so myself. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=38634&item=2478471289&rd=1

Now if more people get on the Injen GB in the forsale forum going, it'll be great for me, but ebay one may just do me good as well. http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61769

I'm hoping they come out with one that has red couplers! This one still has blue couplers.

Is this a real CAI, just like the Injen?

If so then how the hell do people justiy paying for an injen when you can get on of these for $40. There's no science to intakes. Its a piece of pipe with a filter on the end. You cant beat that price.

coloring the intake is no biggie... u can have them anodized since they are aluminum and this will also prevent oxidation of the aluminum. and yes they are a great deal... fuck the injen... if it wasnt 200+ i would have gotten one.

Yeah, but heck these are already colored so you don't even have to buy to get a polished one anodized. Yeah and its pretty ghey that these ebay ones only seem to come with blue or gray couplers. Is there a RED Coupler Concpiracy? Maybe the RED Coupler makers want high prices for them, sinces most people prefer red.

actually there is. the more bends there are in the piping the more restrictive the air flow is. injen found the best possible way to get the maximum air flow to the engine while minimizing the number of bends. plus they have carb numbers as well. injen is also a company that makes quality products...not some cheap shit u get a home depot. and with all this added up, this is why the real injen cai is more expensive to ebays cai.

Well I don't see anything like the eBay CAI at home depot.. it's basically a replica of the injen. Some people get them with little metal shavings inside them, but i cleaned mine out and found nothing... and carb numbers.. oh the joy of not living in CA haha. That and only paying 2.10 a gallon fir 87.

thats the point rigth there, your gonna notice no difference between the two from feel and on the dyno you would see what maybe a whole 1hp diff, maybe 2.

I am not knocking injen by any means and if I had larger funds to play with I would go name brand(although probably AEM). Yes the pipe path design is great with injen but these are basically replicas so the paths are close to the same, I have also heard that the inside of the injen pipes is a little different causing the air to flow better through the pipes, i have not seen this myself and not sure how they claim to do that.

Lastly the filter and other side materials with the intake are also different, you can always buy a K&N or APEXi filter for te ebay one and still spend less total. But I have noticed the silicone hoses and clamps are usually not great quality with ebay intakes

So by the time you buy a good filter, new couplers and new clamps....well you know, just depends on if its worth your time.

edit: those looking for red or black couplers www.hosetechniques.com (http://www.hosetechniques.com), you can specify grade, color, size and get tbolt clamps from em too

I'll probably myself up with one of these, but not the red one, wouldn't look right in a yellow P5 also with my blue ground wire kit.

Avoid the ones with grey couplers on EBAY, I've read a bunch of posts on here that they don't fit correctly. Even in the photos there aren't enough couplers shown, and people have confirmed that they are missing one.

The only seller I've heard multiple good reviews on are this LiveonSpeed guy, his intake fit, and include everything needed. I owned an Injen and I don't see how anything on the inside of the pipe was aiding airflow, with a better filter this Ebay CAI will work exactly the same.
