ok, i got my d/p w/ hiflow cat (apexr1) yesterday and tried to install in myself today. (big props for those who installed themselves by just using jackstand, some wd40 and some regular tools.) cause i couldn't do it. tried for about an hour to take off the bolts. got stuck on the protective brace and said screw it. tightened everything back up and took it to "VALLEY MUFFLER SHOP" (bowdown) in santee, ca. guy there was cool. so i asked while he was down there to replace the rest of the exhaust w/ 3" piping and keep stock muffler. he said sure. the whole thing only costed me $150!!!!!!!!!!! i'm so happy with that. so if anybody wants good work and great price. check this guy out. car feels great. still very quite. i actually wanted a little more aggressive sound, so i may swap out muffler. but for now, everything sounds really good..

So no more resonator? Just the stock racing beat muffler on 3" piping? And it doesn't sound loud?

Neg only will suffice. Don't forget to drain the system by tapping the brakes once you've disconnected it.

So is your exhaust louder now? I'm getting a d/p, and wondering if i should keep the resonator when i make my custom cat back. I am keeping the stock muff too.

yeah, from what i hear, the cops there will bust you if they here you. well you won't have any problem w/ this setup. no throaty sound or anything like that. if you want to be heard and slam the throttle then you can here it definitely louder than normal. but keep the resonator and stock muffler and you'll be good. can definitely feel the difference though, just wont get the extra unwanted attention (unless you're looking for it)
