ricei like it, i can see where you could get "rice" from, but as much as i hate rice, we gotta learn to cope with the fact that we drive protege's turbo charged with a big wing on the back, and alot of modifications may seem riced out just because of the car, if that came off of a porche or VW, (which it seems it did) thats not very ricey when its on those cars, but just since its on our car it seems a little ricey, ahh well i like it and am contemplating getting one since i hate my "protege" emblem

I got one just like that not to long ago at the vw dealership. Im planning to shave all the badges off my trunk and put the turbo badge write where the mazdaspeed badge use to be. Should look nice i'll post some pics up once I get it done.

i agree with you, but no ,matter how much i love my speed it has a lot more rice in it stock then just the badge...which actually looks like it belongs there once you put it on.

it is almost hidden when it's on a titanium and is reflecting something.

u will not see it at first, not everyone does........i came to a meet, after i put it on, without saying anything and people did not notice it for a while.

it's very subtle........and very good quality.

its a badge with holes....evedintally the holes match up perfectly!

install was easy......10 min

turbo badge comes with sticky stuff in the back.

protege badge has pegs and glue.
best thing to do is press on the pegs from the back while u floss the badge from the front.

then use some "goof-off" to take the glue residue off, clean with rubbing alcohol, and attach the turbo badge.
it can only be put one way in order to hide the holes, so make sure u align it right before u press on it, cause the sticky stuff in the back is strong as hell.

i kinda like the badge, however, i also agree. it woud be like putting a DOHC sticker on your car. yes, we have DOHC engines, HOWEVER, the DOHC sticker is generally found on Hondas. so do we have it, yes. is it really kosher, no.

One that I wanted to try was using the badge from an older MR2 Turbo('91-95). They all used color matched badges, so it was kind of hard to see it until you got up close. I'm just not sure about the font, because I remember it looking fairly plain. We'll see though...

I like how it looks, however, I't would be better if the "MazdaSpeed" badge was on the left and the "Turbo" badge was on the right, thus it would read MazdaSpeed Turbo instead of Turbo MazdaSpeed. Anyway, that's just nitpicking, I still think it looks cool. How big are the holes on trunk for the original Protege badge? I was thinking about just taking off the badge and leaving it off, I'd rather it just said MazdaSpeed on the back. Thanks for letting me know about the holes, I'd have been pretty pissed if I took the badge off and saw I had two holes to deal with.

Unfortunately the holes are pretty noticeable - I painted my Protege emblem and front emblem black...looks a lot better on my black MSP than before - funny, I also have a Turbo badge from when I had my '00 GTI - it's actually a black Porsche 'turbo' badge, so it looks a little different than the newer silver VW 'turbo' badge...I may put mine on, who knows...for now it looks fine..

I say do what you like, but the badges look great imo.

I was thinking of removing my Protege emblem as well. I never liked the normal Protege, I just like the way my MSP looks, and the turbo. I was never all about 4 door economy cars, but this car doesn't fit that mold, so it sweet. I am thinking of removing the Protege emblem and replacing it as well, I was thinking the HKS emblem since I have a lot of their product. Perhaps I should just remove both that emblem and the Mazdaspeed one, though? How would that look, clean?! I already have a MazdaSpeed decal on the top of my window (see my CarDomain site). Any opinions? I like the turbo emblem in that place, but I can see why people are against it. It is like having a loud blow-off valve, you advertise the fact you are boosting. Some people like to downplay it and then smoke the guy who hasn't done his homework. I do both. If someone tries to mess with me because they think I am just cosmetic, I smoke them just to see the dumb look on their faces when I slow down and catch the next light and they finally catch up feeling like a dumba$$. It is also cool to accelerate fast and hear the BOV or exhaust when someone in a WRX/STi is trying to show off and can't properly drive the car. Then smoking that guy also is satisfying because he spent so much more, and you just handed him his butt. So I could go either way...To each his own!

Thanks, that's exactly what I was going for. I wanted the emblems to just go away. From a short distance you can't see them at all. I hand brushed on the paint with the touch up bottle we got as a "gift". Then I sprayed matte finish....like 10 coats.
