Barely broke it into the 14's today.
14.997 @ 93.09 mph
Made a incredible trap speed on this run
15.197 @ 96.22 mph
Full stats here (http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?p=940695#post940695).
:)
Congrats, though I would've thought the MSP would go faster with cat, CAI and a BOV. I'm not questioning your driving skills, just thought the MSP with those mods would've dipped into the 14s easily.

Yes it should have...my 96mph trap should put me at mid-14's. But my launch is horrible...I need practice.

My eventual goal is a > 100mph trap speed, but I don't see that happening unless I up the boost, which means it won't happen for a while. I'm staying at stock boost for a while.

There are some bolt-ons left that will get you VERY close to 100... A lot of them aren't common to this forum, but with mods, you very seldom get good results but just adding one or the other.

hehe holy grandma 60fts!!! 60fts with an lsd should be around 2.1ish so work on the take off and you'll be running 14s with your eyes closed....hehe well maybe we should still leave the eyes open...on your takeoffs are you spinning and hopping or not slamming it hard enough...not trying to give advice, just curious...Ive noticed a lot of people lately have been running really slow 60ft times....

I love it when people post 1/4 mile times-
At least here its not as bad as denver - but here in UT your car would have been luck to crack mid 15's. Altitude is the universal killer!

next time you go to the track dump the 40+ lbs of audio equipment that you have in the trunk

Wow nice reaction time on that 14 second run.

Yes next time I'm going to be sure to empty out my trunk. I left for the track right from work, so I didn't have any time to do it. Car weight was 3110 lbs.
Also with my launch, I either bogged down, or spun/hopped like mad. I'm still working on finding that happy medium between the two :)
This was only my second time at the track, so I'm satisfied with my results...but I know I need a *lot* more practice :)

that's great for stock boost.... My best run was a 15.7 completely stock when I first got the car. I'm still pretty stock though. I need more money

The wheel spin is probably what got you such a good MPH on the 96 mph run. Within reason, if you spin a bit out of the hole, the MPH usually goes up a bit. The tire RPM/MPH is faster in a shorter time and it gives you a few MPH head start basically.
Congrats though- just keep practicing and you'll get there.

Yup once I get this launch down I should be seeing mid-14's. This was only my second time at the track, I've only had a total of 9 runs.

Not bad at all for only your second time to the track!! The launch is always tricky with a fwd turbo car, you basically take off somewhat easy and roll into the throttle right on the edge of wheelspin. I'm sure you know and this is all remedial, but don't just dump it or you'll just smoke the tires to no end. Also, while practicing, if you are only running in test and tune anyway, don't worry about the reaction time- it doesn't affect your 1/4 time any- launch when you are ready (within reason- if you take off before the lights are set, then you get no time :) ). If you are concentrating too much on getting a good r/t, a lot of times your nerves and adrenaline get going and makes you screw up- you see the green light and just GO as fast as you can and smoke the hell out of the tires :). I used to do that too, until some old timer (at the time- now *I'm* the old timer :) ) told me to just relax and go when ready, don't look at the other car and try to race him, just concentrate on your car and your driving, nothing else. Once you get that down, then you practice your r/t's and such. Unless you just want to beat the Honda next to you and don't care about your time :). However, if you are going for a good ET and to practice launching/driving your car, this will actually help a lot. I have some slips from when I was setting my talon up with like 2 second r/t's because I was just getting comfortable with it and I would rather get a good time than good reaction- when you are tuning- the time is important to see what the car is doing, the r/t means nothing.
Probably just wrote a novel of stuff you already knew, just throwing in my 2 cents and trying to help. Later.

Wow nice reaction time on that 14 second run.
i thought .500 is a perfect reaction time? so anything under that is a red light? or am i just misinformed? i dunno.. haha
oh yeah justin.. and everybody else.. unless it just took me a whole damn year to figure this out and everybody else knows it.. if u drive ur car for a while and launch.. is friggin awesome.. i get no wheel hop at all.. i drop it from 3.5k and it spins around 1 rotation and takes off.. its like rsx-s launch, and they get NO wheel hop.. 3 of my friends have it and i drove 2 of them.. no wheel hop.. that car is so nice and smooth :D

It's probably because the tires are warmed up some.
