Can I still remove the intake resonator without jacking up the car? For one, I don't have a jack stand and I don't trust the spare tire jack. Second, I don't feel like buying a jackstand just to do one job. Can I remove the airbox and go through there to remove it?

I am sure you can, but it would involve taking off the front fender and headlight. I removed mine by jacking the car up with the spare tire jack, did not have a problem. The jack is actually pretty good, and it worked fine for what you need to do. Just my two cents.

Well, as long as it's safe, I'll use the spare tire jack. I've just heard some nightmares about people working on their cars and getting severly injured or killed from the jack breaking loose.

I've heard it does. My main reason for doing this is to increase the engine noise. It's so damn quiet. (boom02) I'm also getting a CAI in the near future and I'd like to get the resonator removed and out of the way. (sssh)

i used the spare tire jack... my damn bastard friend never returns shit, but the ghetto jack worked fine for me... you dont really have to get under the car a whole lot, so not too much to worry about.. took 20 minutes, and i actually had the hardest time getting the bolt that is hidden behind the headlight, not the third bolt in the directions...

This may be too late, but at least throw a concrete block or someting under the car so that if it falls you won't get hurt.

I did one better. I got my roommate's hydraulic jack and my spare jack under there just incase one failed.
So, I'm all good. I took the resonator out and she's sounding great. I'm even more excited to get a CAI installed. (thumb)
Thanks for your help everyone.
