Hello. I just purchased a winning blue 3 and love it. One q- above the fog lights there is a small circle (same color as car) that looks like it can be removed. Can someone tell me what it is for? I do not have a pic of my car but the circle that I am asking about can be viewed in post http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=63311 on the sedan.
Also, is there a mod that can be done to get the outside temp. reading to show in the radio display as it does in the Mazda 6? Thnx in advance.

It's a cover for the tow-hook. You pop off the cover and screw in the tow-hook when necessary (the hook is stored in the trunk/carge compartment).

AFAIK, there's no mod for an outside temp reading. The only thing you can do is purchase the accessory rear-view mirror with compass and temp display.

Thanks for the info. Is the rear-view mirror something that can be put in myself or does the dealer have to do it? Any suggestions on where to purchase other than at the dealer?

If you are at all mechanically inclined, it should be no problem to do it yourself. All it requires is a few simple hand tools and some patience. The kit comes with very good instructions.
The dealer is the only place to get it but there are some dealers on the internet who are selling at wholesale. Just do an internet search and you should find something.
If all else fails, you can now buy them directly from MazdaUSA.

You can find them cheaper. I paid $188 for mine. Everybody should develop a good relationship with their local dealer's parts department. See if you can get your sales person to get you a discount.

New information:
There MAY be a way to get an ambient temp readout without the new mirror.
