Alright here's a group buy some people were asking for; OBX Stainless Steel Racing Headers for the 2.0 (fits the 1.8) engine. I'll need ten people to make this price good and that price will be...

$199 plus shipping

Most places sell these headers for $300 or so, and the lowest I have found is $240. This is a $50 reduction over my base price. Shipping will be about $25 or so on these.

Topher just got one of these from me and both he and his wife love the resulting powerband change. He let his wife drive the P5 and she apparently really was surprised by it!

ummm...no. once i hit around 3800rpm's...it pulls like a Mofo...you gotta keep an eye on your tach.

That's why im kinda wondering if I'll be losing a bit of torque due to the design of the primaries. Also, does the car still kinda die around 6500? If it just smooths out the power a bit, ill buy it. :)

i REALLY need to get to a dyno...i honestly don't run my car past 6500...and that's when i'm getting on it...so i can't tell you...i will say this, for the $$, you can't beat it...you can either buy this for $199+shipping (or whatever the price is)...or pay $565 for the AWR.

I don't know much about cats, but the only way I could imagine a worst case scenario was them trying to prove that the second cat could have gotten fouled by not having the stock first cat.

jet-coating on some stainless steel can be more harmful than good.. it can trap too much heat and wear down your stainless.. jet-coating on regular steel on the other hand is a good idea.

what about header rap (not sure of the name ) -- would that to keep too much heat in like the jet-coating does ---




jet-coating on some stainless steel can be more harmful than good.. it can trap too much heat and wear down your stainless.. jet-coating on regular steel on the other hand is a good idea.

i think the stainless steel doesn't need either.. it does a good enough job keeping the heat in on it's own.. but the regular steel needs help holding the heat in and that's why regular steel benefits from jet-coating or using a header wrap.

the headers are made out of SUS-304 stainless steel, and they are precision mandrel-bent to enhance exhaust gas flow.

-T-304 Stainless Steel mandrel bend for ultra fast flow.
-CNC Machine flanges with TIG and MIG welded construction
-both 02 Sensor position

Hey guys, the header looks great on the car. An awesome sound with the INJEN/TEAMMOON combo, sounds big, low, and full---alot more sound coming from the front of the car. Wow, coming back into my development, I had to drive in 3rd to stay in a nice "silent" mode. Tommorrow, I'll have pics up for you guys.

i don't know about the buildup, but you shouldn't need new gaskets or bolts, your just using all the same mounting bolts and nuts that were on the stock header.

these headers are NOT used. Every single one I got was sealed in the packaging. I've ordered and opened alot of these headers from OBX and not one of them came with new hardware or gaskets. For the record the AWR header does not come with a new gasket either. I had to reuse my stock gasket on my turbo downpipe as well.

i will send an email to OBX asking them about the carbon. next time, please shoot me a PM or email first rather than starting a brand new "Eh hem" thread, so I know whats going on and we can resolve this.

Dude it's probably from having the bungs welded into it??? I just put mine on and it was fine....no "carbon" here. I did have to file out the hole for the 1st 02 sensor a little, but otherwise the fit was perfect!!! Nice product, thanks Captain.(cheers2)

Its NOT a used header. Heres an example, we bought an RX8 intake. Even in the instructions it states to wipe out and clean any crap from the inside. There was a light layer of black soot or some shit. Same with my Injen intake. Shit gets dirty from laying around in thier shop, from shipping, from everywhere. Ken got these straight from OBX and shipped them straight to the customers. Its not like he even has time to put the header on, use it, and then take it off and send it to you.

outONyo - What is the color of the header. Please post pictures if you can. A used header will be discolored on the outside due to the heat of the exhaust gasses. A new header will be chrome and shiny. There is no way to use the header and have it NOT change color.

Yeah really, I bought one of the first OBX headers from these guys...It was bright chrome, and the inside and soot inside it..That comes from the original testing of the welds FROM THE MANUFACTURER.. Your header is not used, you just saw black dust inside the header and assumed that its used..Little did you realize that as soon as a Stainless Steel header heats up (even at idle) it immediately changes color..Mine did at idle in under 30 seconds..Maybe instead of crying about how you got ripped off, maybe you should of politely asked a question..Ken and Bryan are great guys, don't even try to knock their credibility. outonyou, I just got off the phone with Peter at OBX racing. He says there is absolutely no way that the header is used. i told him about the carbon build up and he said that in those cases the header had not been cleaned thoroughly after being on the assembly line. he said that the header is perfectly fine to use and that the carbon buildup will not enter the engine (being that it is on the exhaust side) and installation/fitment will not be affected.

The header is at my house,,,,not at my job,,,,,how can i answer the question when i cant look at it,,,,i got the headers looked at em and seen the carbon got pissed and put them back into the box and there sitting on my living room floor...my roommates have looked at them more than me...SO THATS WHY I DIDNT ANSWER YOUR QUESTION 3 TIMES
