Rock thrown up by gravel truck. Hit between window base and driver-side winsdhield wiper (one in a million shot doc). No ding. Instead, crack running 8" up before making a turn to the passenger side and running for another 6".
Worse yet, gravel truck didn't have plates. All I could do (traffic too) was get a photo of the trailer with its plate.
To say I'm pissed is an understatement. Window tint is on hold now.
Thanks for letting me vent. Could have been an ugly scene.

I hate them fucking gravel truck assholes! My MSP has a few minor paint niks, nothing major so far. I was driving my previous car(a 2002 Z24) and got my windshield cracked immediately after the rock hit my windshield. I shit you not, I was following him in the fast lane, whipped over through the slow lane and on to the shoulder...passed three cars, swerved back into the fast lane in front of him and slammed on my brakes and flipped him off! (dark) He almost went off the road and had I not had my supercharger turned up to 7 psi he would have ass fucked my Z. But he did cost me $120 for a new windshield plus $25 for a new tint strip! (hump)

That blows. I've already had to have my windshield replaced as well. Sorry to hear about it :( At least it hit the windshield and not the body.

sorry to here that, you also might want to ask about the law that applys to the gravel trucks..here in louisiana the gravel must be tarped if not and gravel comes out of the truck and does any kind of damage to a car the trucking company is responsible for all cost on repairs. all you need is the companys name off the side of the truck and a truck number..also here they can't drive in the hammer lane they must stay in the right lane..check on the tarping law..call the trucking company and say wtf. i already had my hood redone thanks to pmc trucking..but collecting is a pain in the ass..but its worth a shot if you don't want to cough up the cash. i had a chunk of dirt fly off a machine a truck was carrying, and it scrapped the front of my car, i waxed but it didn't come out. Got a police report but didn't give it to insurance. I also got a window cracked by a rock like 3 weeks later. Gave that to insurance. I had to pay nothing, full coverage rules....but regardless the guy that replaced the window said if insurance hadn't of paid for it that the windshield alone was 490 some bucks. Thats fucking ridiculous.....he said that style windshield costs alot, he showed me the bill that would goto my insurance company, i was like holy shit. he said the speeds get stress cracks alot he said mine was like the 10th he'd done in a little less than a year.

WOW. I got a quote yesterday. The glass company does all the work for the dealer I work with here in Denver. I was quoted $192 and that's coming out to my work in Brighton (30min north from Denver), installation, and warranty. With my deductible being more than the glass (and the other issues I'm having with insurance), I'm thinking "fuck it" and fixing it before I leave for Wyoming this June. Guess the ION exhaust will go on hold a little longer.
Unfortunately, I didn't get the name of the company... all I got was the trailer license plate (no plates on truck). Hopefully DMV will be nice and help me out.
BTW... the crack grew another 4 inches yesterday.

I figured he was upto something....(glare) . Didn't bother me though cause i didn't pay anything at all. I got pretty good coverage. Even though i'm on my own Insurance account, my moms representative at the insurance agency gave me the same quote they would get. Because they've used them for 20 years, so i get the same discounts and i still get cheaper premium every 3 years for safe driver, and all they're safe drivers count towards me also. But they in no way have anything to do with my account. ....so i got hooked up.
