I was sitting at a light this morning behind a Porsche Carerra. The light turns green, and the Porsche stalls out (second) My foot was off the brake, and a Mercedes SUV hits me from behind.
Get out, no damage except for a small scuff on the bumper which should buff out. We exchanged info, a cop showed up, <$500 damage means no police report.
I told her I'd try to get the scuff out tonight and give her a call if I can't.
Thing is, now my neck is starting to hurt a bit, so now I gotta go get checked out :(

Hope everything works out OK!

Sorry to here you neck hurts, I would go get it check most likely you just have a mild case of whiplash. Take a heat pad put in on. Or have a good neck message done.

Glad your not hurt and hope it buffs out, I got rear ended a couple months ago, had the bumper painted 3 times (spicy orange) still not right but acceptable. Not an easy color to match even with paint codes. I hope if I get hit again, it's totaled.
Good Luck!

Porsche driver must have been a total idiot and just dumped the clutch. Oh well, whaddaya expect in Jersey?!? j/k
I love the Mercedes driver going by the light instead of what the car in front of her was doing...must have been on her cell phone. Total idiot!
Take care of yourself man...and being an EMT I'm sure you'll take it easy for a while.

What do you know, a lady driving an SUV rear-ending somebody at a light.(dark) Yet another reason there should be an extra little test for people that drive SUV's. I've been rear ended by 3 of them.(protest)

Just got back from the ER, x-rays were fine. Just a bit of whiplash, nothing a few narcotic painkillers and muscle relaxants can't fix ;)
Now because I'm gonna have a hospital bill, I gotta call my insurance company and see what they say.

Painkillers!!!!
I tore my abdominal wall, and they gave me the same stuff. That was about 3 weeks ago. Sorry about the accident bro, but if you take them painkillers, take it easy on the amount. I don't remember the day after my accident, I think I was only awake for about 45 minutes.

Jersey:
You should be able to submit your bills to her insurance carrier. They will make you sign a waiver and take a statement from you about the accident. A rear end collision is never the fault of the impacted driver, so they will gladly pay your medical bill, you should get an estimate on the damage just to be safe.
Don't turn it in to your carrier. Its not your fault. Good luck.

Well, I'm still required to report it to my carrier (which I did). Since I was rear ended while I was stopped, the accident is obviously 100% the other driver's fault, so it's her insurance that will be paying my medical bills. And my insurance won't go up any, because my carrier doesn't have to pay a dime.

If you got hit hard enough to require pain killers, you better check under your bumper. I was hit at 30mph in my EVO and from the outside it didn't look so bad, but it's getting repaired right now and the cost is $6500. If you didn't file a police report it may bite you in the ass if you end up needing more medical help or body work for the car. Get it checked out for sure.

Yeah my car looks perfectly fine except for a small scuff/scratch on the bumper from her front license plate. The hit was hard enough to push my car about 4 feet foward. There's a bit of damage to her car, but absolutely none to mine. I checked under the bumper, and everything looks fine.
I'm still going to have it checked out though.
And my insurance won't go up any, because my carrier doesn't have to pay a dime.Sorry, man, but this isn't quite true. The minute you called your insurance company and let them know about it, they filed a no-fault accident on your Claims History Report. And while no-fault accidents certainly don't carry the weight of at-fault accidents, they are still factored into your insurance premiums upon renewal.
Depending on whether you have a standard or non-standard carrier will dictate whether one no-faulter in the last three years will impact your rates. A lot of people will think this is unfair, but if a person has several no-fault accidents in three years, they are considered an "accident magnet", which makes them more susceptible to a possible at-fault accident down the road compared to someone who has never been in one.
EDIT: BTW, I've worked in the insurance industry for three years, in case you question my credentials. :)

Damn Justin...that sucks about your neck not feeling good. Hopefully you feel a better soon.
Turn those lemons into lemonade though....have the bad-drivers insurance co. buy you a new bumper (buddy club, wings west, etc etc....) nudge nudge ;)

Nope it's just a record of an accident, it's not a claim. Until your insurance has to pay more than $500 for a claim you're rates cannot increase. At least that's they way it is in NJ.

That totally bites you got hit man.. I know the feeling. Just be grateful you weren't hit at 35mph at a stand still. This happened to me on Saturday in my MP5. Funny thing is I just got done w/ my mods two days prior. OH well.. stuff happens.

Ooo what kinda pain pills you get? ;)
J/k Man, hope everything turns out ok, and your rates definately cannot increase.
I had a no fault accident, that my insurance company had to pay out on.. long story short i left the ebrake off in a parking lot and my old car rolled into another car..
They paid out less than 750, which is the Ky requirement, and my insurance rates didnt increase... however i did lose a discount for having no accidents and no tickets that is eligible to people under 25.
Ohh well.. everything will be ok!

Nice, be careful with those, they'll fuck your world up HARD.
Plus once you dont need them anymore, you can unload them for 5 bucks a pill... or more.
Nice way to make some extra cash. ;)

Update:
Neck and back are fine, I took a day off of work, and relaxed the entire weekend after the crash. Painkillers were fun while they lasted :)
I washed my car, and noticed damage to the bumper.
Her license plate is IMPRINTED into my bumper. I gave her a call, and we filed a report with her insurance company. I need to get 3 estimates, and then she'll decide whether to pay out of pocket or to have her insurance pay. I don't care which way it gets done...as long as my medical bills are paid, and my bumper is replaced (i don't think it can be repaired).
So....
Where do I get a buddyclub 2 bumper from?
:)

MMMM....pain killers..... I got rear ended last year at the airport here in phoenix, and to tell you the truth, EVERYBODY in AZ drives like shit....I was paying for my parking pass for the airport parking, dead stop, bar in front of me doesnt go up till it's paid, and the jackass in an S-10 blazer plows into my hatch...not horrific dammage, but to say the least, his had more damage, and I was able to make a few bucks on the whole deal.
