Ok I replaced my sway bar bushings on march 17, I noticed the product number was the wrong one. I asked the service writer and he swore that these were the new updated bushings and that i will not get anymore clunking. Well guess what started happening... The damn clunk is back! I called him up and he said oh ok bring your car in mazda just realsed this new grease for the bushings ill order some and you should be fine. Anyone know what the deal is with this New Grease?

I had my sway bar replaced as well as the bushings back in the fall and the clunk has not returned.

They replaced your swaybar under warranty?

Make sure you get the 156E bushings. I got em and the clunk hasn't returned, but that doesn't mean it won't. Can't wait for Dave's fix to be released.

Make sure the idiot dealers replaces the bars/156e's at the same time!

Some of the dealers are idiots, I specifically told them to order the 156E bushings (numerous times), and what do I see when I get the receipt today? 156D!?!?! I can't complain about the dealership because the mechanics there are awesome, but the guy ordering the parts and doing customer service is an idiot. My clunk should return within a few months, but just to let you guys know that the D series bushings are still out there because I just had mine installed a week ago. Make them show you the box if you have to.

well, oddly enough, they put the D bushings back on (which they had replaced once already and the clunk returned promptly) with the new sway bar and it's been months now and no clunk. Now mind you it was winter and I didnt drive as hard obviously because of road conditions. Perhaps now that the weather is better I am going to be cornering harder and it may bring the clunk back. Only time will tell. But as Newf pointed out, get the bar replaced too!

An interim fix is to get 13/16 urethane bushings w/ zerks from Summit, hammer-bend the brackets to fit the stock location, and go from there. Costs $20-25 and apparently lasts a while, though it's non stock and the dealer may have a few things to say. Others have tried PU tape or Teflon tape with limited success. Be patient - the Delsing fix works, it just has to make it to production.

Oh - and I too feel that Mazda should have cleaned up their mess, supported the car better, and offered a long term fix, don't get me wrong.
