UTOH!

Got in my car this morning and the check engine light was on. Called the local Mazda dealer and they will look at it and see if it's something they can do if not have to drive to Raleigh and take it to the speed dealer.

I have no mods, with all the engine blows etc, makes me nervous. Well update once I know what's going on.

It's usually nothing. The CEL can come on for hundreds of different reasons...most of them being minor.

this is why everyone should have an OBDII reader. they arent that expensive and will save you much time.

Have to check that out, i'm from the generation of muscle cars, no electronics or computers. Guess they shows my age.

Thanks

How many miles do you have on the car. Usually something minor if the car has no other signs of driveability issues, but its not something to ignore.

goto autozone and have them scan it, or goto sears and buy an OBDII scanner... im thinking it might be a worthy investment. :o

11800, it runs fine, I'm sure it's nothing major but shouldn't come on this early, thank goodness for warranties.

Good luck. I have 27,993 and no light. I even put on a catless downpipe w/o the MIL, no light after 2,000 miles so far.

Let the dealer scope it out and fix it. Let us know what it was.

most local autoparts stores will hookup up an OBDII reader for free.

dudette it is and thanks, I bought my car at capitol and if it's more the the local mazda dealer here can do I will go there. The local mazda does my regular maintenance, and the things that they are allowed to do, treat me right.

If that's the case and they can get me in we will be in the area Friday night, anything going on?

I know it's not blown and as mention no noticable problems, just a light. But it shouldn't have come on this soon.

It's at my local dealer now, waiting for them to call me. Hopeing that I don't have to drive to Raleigh. While I was there they told me they are working on getting purchasing the speed license and hope to have it by end of year so they will be an authorized Mazdaspeed Dealer" .
