TX front license eradication

I know this should be in the Texas Group section but I just felt that it might be viewed more in this section.


For all of us who hate the front license plate law, there might be some help. I am attaching a link to a petition to eradicate the front license plate.<O:p

Can you add one to get rid of the Ontario front plate law as well?
I enjoyed having no front plate when i lived in Quebec.
I had the plates off when i waxed my car last weekend and I couldn't believe how much better the car looked without them.

As much as I HATE the front plate law I dont agree with the petition.
It may be that it is because I work in law enforcement - but I think as ugly as they are they serve a purpose.

a spot to use laser in day or night time. Also for rear view mirror checks with car behind you speeding crazy. Cop will run the plate they see.

I took my plate off here in Jersey for the first 2 months of owning the car. I got a nice 40$ fine.

I was asking abt this law at work last Wed. I hate the front plate and was gonna take it off that day, well Thurs on my way to school on I-35 I get pulled over by a State Trooper for speeding(bang) So he talks to me outta my passenger window and right after that he heads straight to the front to write down the plate number. I was thinking DAMN thank god I didnt take it off. But anyway I ended up getting out of the ticket with a warning..whewww

Well, living in BFE Mississippi sucks for the most part, but at least no front license plates or catalytic converters are required here. Still, I wish I was back in Texas!

I think the law is the most rediculous one of any. They only have it so that they will have something to pull you over for. I have been stopped almost two dozen times, and never once was given a ticket for it. It just gives them a reason to stop you. I am now driving my dad's old 300ZX ('90) and he has never had a front plate on (since bought new in 1990). I can't seem to remember a time when he was ever pulled over for it, but me... I have been pulled over 4 times for it in the past year. In my old 'stang, at least a dozen.

I took mine off before I even got my plates and have yet to be pulled over for it... Hopefully I won't...
