Yeah if you're tearing apart the motor you might as well replace the pistons as well.

Yeah you can buy them separately, but the labor charge to install just the rods versus the rods & pistons would be about the same (same amount of work involved).

Unless you plan to do everything yourself and don't mind tearing down your motor to replace the rods, then a year down the road think "oh maybe I should do pistons too" and have to do it all again.

if you tear it apart replace your pistons too, though I dont know of any currently available forged rods that will work with our pistons, because the pauter use floating wrist pins and require some aftermarket pistons to go with them.

as for if it possible, sure, anyone can custom make some rods for you, but they would en up costing more than the Pauter rods + JE pistons.

so how much are those sets? i will probably just have it built stock again and then down the road turn it into a bulletproof engine.... But i still think i might just get a truck lol.

[Thread Jack] You guys seen my post lately =) Help the needy please? http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?p=914088#post914088[End Thread Jack]

I got my Cunnigham rods for $450.00 (used and already balanced) but it requires using a different rod bearing which is $200.00. Also I got my pistons from nick @ perfworks for $630.00 + shipping.

cool, this looks like it might be something for down the road then. I just want to make sure my car lives for a while longer. and knowing how many defects it has is kinda scary
