I just got an email from Sam at Jspec and he said they are going to have the side mount intercooler ready in two weeks. Maybe we could start a group buy on this one cause it is kind of spendy at 630$

Is that just for the intercooler core? Or does it include pipes as well?

i would assume just the core....it was on jspec.com for a while now....im workin with a local va shop to make me a smic for much cheaper :)

Yeah then that's pretty ridiculous. A FMIC (obviously with hardpipes) only costs a bit more.

First company to make a SMIC without pipes under $400 has me as a customer!!

I am working with Jspec and Circuit Sports, and will be setting up a group buy early this week for the SMIC. Just waiting on a phone call with Product info, and prices.

$630 for IC only. ouch! i want improvements, but i also want to be able to afford gas too. w/ hard pipes decent price. only smic, then needs to be a couple hundred cheaper.

The core is like $300 alone. The group buy should be cheaper then $650 though. We will see.

if u can say what core are they using for that smic...i agree 400 is def NOT do-able.....for them to get a profit at least....materials and labor is a good 450-500 bucks......it show u produce them

(poke) The core alone is $300.00... so now all the customers know what the SMIC should really be marked up to... (hah) (first)

True but letting customers know what your cost MIGHT be... is not a good way to get customers to pay for the large amounts of "profit" you plan on getting.

my core is a spearco bar and plate 24x6x3.5 (which is like 3 times the size of the side mount) with custom endtanks by wagner motorsports and it was cheaper than 600 bucks.

I understand that... Im just saying.. putting figures out on what the cost could potentially be will always stick in there head. They will think twice about spending that much when they know it doesn't cost that much to make.

I don't work for circuit sports Jeff. It was a guess. Everyone here knows that. its like someone saying that "the MSP boosts 16PSI stock". Thats wrong.. ............But its just a uneducated guess.

check the retail price of a core thats about 5"X10"X3.5"......its around 300...like i said...depends on concctions and wholesale....labour and material cost....but mostly on SUPPLY AND DEMAND

on and the smaller cores are more expensive i noticed...i guess cus they are more rare ?!?!?

I understand that, i dont mean it should be 200 bucks out the door, but I think 600 is way too high.
